Error In Designer Display

Since the new Expansion came out, and I haven't had the money to buy it yet. The ship designer in any new game I start hasn't been working. The actual image of the ship that you edit will no appear, nor will any items added to it. The gem responds like they are there but they aren't visible. Even Templates from research just aren't there. This glitch is kinda gamebreaking and makes it impossible to Upgrade any ships or design any new ones. 

Anyone knows anything please help. StarDock I expect better than this, but I figure Someone should bring this up. I couldn't find a report of anything like it.

Seriously I've seen graphics glitches in lots of games, not just from Stardock. And I really Like Stardock Games, but this isn't some simple graphics error it completely disrupts the entire ability to create/upgrade ships. I don't know what to do. could someone please get back to me.

Are you talking about visual designs or adding gear to a ship or both?

 

I've never tried to change looks, but I have not had any trouble adding engines and guns to ships.
