Let me play offworld please

Hi,

If this has already been brought up then lettuce know it's just something that bothers me a little. I live in the UK and it is very hard to find a ranked 1v1 due to the usually low player numbers in my time zone and the fact that other commitments prevent me from being able to stay up playing computer games all night until the Americans swell the ranks.

It's frustrating to be locked out of ranked 1v1 at weekends which is the part of the week when I have both the time and the potential pool of players around to play. I understand that this may have been done to encourage 4 player ranked but in my experience people play ffa exclusively in lobby mode as you can chat and be encouraged that there are actually other people on the server.

The idea of sitting in a queue for another single player to fancy a ranked game in unappetising, the idea of sitting there for 3 people is borderline unthinkable. Looking at the leaderboards for 4p ranked you could probably count the number of successfully run games of it on one hand and if I had to guess I'd say they weren't exactly spontaneous.

I'm not knocking the idea of having 4p ranked-I'll certainly be playing it if average wait times fall post release, it just seems a shame to cut about half of the content of this game for about 50% of the time.

Whilst we're at it, the functionality that showed you how many people had queued in the last hour and how many successful games was fantastic for giving me the encouragement to sit in the wait screen and made me play more. Bringing it back would be awesome, even if its just until release and numbers hopefully go up (or on an app!)

Agreed.

Encouraging 4p is fine so long as it doesn't stiffle 2p, which in turn kills the active player pool. On a related note... I think it's time to stop with the multiple active betas. The fact that half the players are on different betas means again that it's hard to find an active game, killing the player pool.

The developers are inadvertently killing interest in the game before it launches by killing the active player pool. I'd hate for the game to launch after 70,000 copies had already sold and have the people who buy it on launch day find that nobody plays it.

I think it's best to make everyone be on next_version by default and give them the free option (without needing to find any codes) to return to the previous version.
