The zooming is broken.

What the hell is going on with the zoom? Change it back please.

Also, side-note... system message text is still non-localized.

Noooo! I like the new zoom. It looks really cool.

what different zoom? I see no difference.

When you zoom in on your colony in beta 6 it has kind of a sweeping motion instead of a straight zoom. I think it looks really cool and kinda liked the change.

It's awful and disorientating. It's a strategy game not an FPS. It is not slight for me, especially at the highest zoom. Can we at least have an option of turning this horribleness off?

Am I the only one who h8s the zooming? 8C

Honestly, I didn't notice any big difference. One of the very few perks of playing with 5 fps on average. :D

Can anyone move this to beta feedback?

Well, me, time to get a drink.

Moved to the beta feedback forum. :)

For the love of dog... is no one concerned about this? Please please please add an option to turn it off...

When I am playing I want to quickly see everyone else's buildings (but not at a fully zoomed out view!). Changing to this sort of zoom prevents that, and makes me queasy to boot. Not everyone has huge screens where they can play at fully zoomed out view..

Edit: thanks for moving this, dog!

The purpose is probably to showcase the awesome graphics, which is better done at a lower angle. When playing seriously I guess you are expected to play zoomed out, which has a higher angle, which is better for seeing information. The current scheme makes sense, letting you switch between looking good and playing properly. No single angle does both at once. I don't see why you'd want to be zoomed in anyway except to see some pretty graphics, since the minimum resolution is already 800x600.

Here's the thing. This is how C&C works, how Starcraft works, and how age of empires works. I think this is actually how every RTS going all the way back to the late 90's use this camera system, changing the angle as you change the zoom. I have no problem with it, because this is a part of the RTS genre. Perhaps a discussion can be had about whether this is a relic of a bygone age, when RTS's wanted to show off their graphics proudly, but I do not think this zooming option is bad. I've been staying out of the discussion because it's obvious where my preferances lie, but perhaps the fact that everyone else has also stayed out of this shows that this particular opinion of yours is unpopular and if you have such a strong opinion of this then it might be you who needs to change? :P

I'm perfectly good with the camera angle behaving as it does right now

I don't play zoomed in all the way. I can't play zoomed out all the way, though.

The angle is just disturbing, as is the flaky zooming action itself.

I never noticed this before...

I guess it comes down to how much money can I paypal to the devs as a bribe to add this option?

Bump.

Come on devs, it will literally take 15 minutes for you to add this option. :(
