Altair Moral Buildings - other tech tree questions

For the Altair's - how are the moral buildings supposed to progress ?? With Xeno Commerce you get Entertainment Centers (+2 morale) when you research Enjoyment you get Healing Pools (+3 Moral) but appear to be totally separate line of colony buildings from entertainment centers.  Then when you research Interstellar Tourism - Stadiums should unlock with +6 moral but since you can't research Entertainment Networks (there is no Xeno Entertainment for Altairs) you can't build stadiums ?  Now the healing pool line can be upgrade via research to +9 moral eventually - what was the intent ? to have both buildings as Altairs but there no upgrade to Stadiums or just upgrade entertainment centers to healing pools and not get stadiums with Interstellar Tourism ?

Why are the Social Matrix Buildings obtained through Altair Xeno Mysticism so mediocre - only ! adjacency bonus and very low bonus to manufacturing and research - seems both need to be upgraded or else not much reason to invest in this research tree.  Dregin Slave Pits - add 3 to adjacent squares and provide 20% bonus - which is probably close to where the Social Matrix needs to be changed to.

Healing pools FTW.  Ignore the stadiums etc and don't look back.  The Altarian versions are just better because they also give influence adjacency benefits.

Social Matrix line is good if you get a lot of adjacency bonuses into them.  They help an all-research planet maintain some manufacturing capability, and an all-production planet generate some research.  I will normally try to place a Social Matrix right next to the Solar (etc) power plant to enhance this synergy.  Keep in mind the Altarians have the Ancient trait, so if you get any Ascension crystals every single planet will be generating research.  The Matrixes help boost that freebie research.  Another cool benefit is the Matrix is both a research and a manufacturing building, so they get terrain benefits from both.

Actually the Ancient trait is FAR more overpowered than that. Your a cumulative +10% to global research for EVERY relic you get. Everyone. Manufacturing, Culture, Research, Economy and Approval. get one of each and you have +50% global research bonus. You should RUSH getting EVERY relic you can with Altarians. They will pull FAR ahead in research.

I play a ridiculous custom race that is both Ancient and Patriotic. Its stupidly fun to have a LARGE empire and racing through the tech trees even with limit planets to colonize.

Fun times!

From a lore perspective I don't think the Altarians should even have the entertainment centers and stadiums...there simply is no reason to have 2 lines of moral buildings, give them the unique healing pools they are supposed to have and leave it at that....

altarian tech tree is probably the worst. For a few reasons

1) their unique building sucks. needs major buffs. there's better ways to get manu and research combos. The use case is either really rare or non existent - especially as most people specialise planets.

2)far far worse: Their late game tetra forming tech is shockingly bad. No ultra tetra former means late game your planets will be awful compared to others.

They only seem competitive because ancient is such a ridiculous trait on larger maps, but that's their racial ability at play, not tech tree.
