I was just wondering if in the future a random race option would be included. Instead of picking which ever races you want as enemies, you could select random in the race slot. That way you could have different truly unknown races until first contact. You would only know the number races, not who they are.
First we need more races which is hard considering we can have a 128 races. I guess random could be done if you were allowed to set the the number of races you want on the map.
yes, just have an add random option when you click the add button. Then it would pick a race. Just so you don't know who is out there.

I don't think I'll hit 128 until we're able to share races... But we'll see..

This really is a must at some point, picking your own enemies let's you start plotting your strategy earlier than necessary.
Since you can have up to 100 am opponents I think spinners allowing you to select a number and a button that adds that number of random opponents minus any you selected manually is probably best.
It was confirmed in a chat earlier this week that they have plans to add a "random" button for opponents. (which I took to mean, randomly generated to fill, say, a 100 player map).
Won't make it into the initial release, but it's coming sometime.

It would be nice to have "add random unique race". I dislike playing against 2 of the same race for some reason.
I think that will become more possible once steam workshop has been integrated and people are sharing custom races as if you choose a hundred player game it clearly can't make them all unique at the moment.
