99% GPU load when game is minimized

Screenshot below shows GPU load when the game is minimized then switched back to (higher/lower data points respectively).

While V-Sync fixed most of my issues while playing the game, i still have the exact same issue as the OP when i am Alt-Tabbed.

What is going on here ?
