When will we get Minor Races?

Will the Combat update include tweaks to AI diplomacy, for example Making the Drengin a bit more callous and aggressive or the Iridium willing to open trade for the sake of trade?

Thanks!

Will we be seeing any preliminary passes on the ship combat scenes in this/future dev streams?

:)

Yes I want to add another question, Can we see an example of the new 'Combat Viewer' in action?

PULLLLEEEEEZE??

- Do you plan to add more dialogues and messages to the AI? I loved how they felt all different in galciv2.

- They AI never ask for a truce (or accept to pay tributes to stop the war), even if i'm annihilating them.. we'll see some improvements with the next beta or before release?

Thanks! :)

Currently production does not overflow.  For example if I am at 40 manufacturing a turn and a building requires 60, after 2 turns it is complete but the 20 extra does not carry forward to the next building.  Is this intentional?

Can I not have template ships cluttering up my star port screen?

shipyard range like what we have for starbases so we can see if we move it if another planet fall in sponsorship of it.

most often uses Tab for shipyards and planet improvements. or a favorite tab.

under ships command

ship standby,.... puts ships on standby for 3 to 5 turns pops up and ask if you are sure you want the ship on standby.

How will Assimilation Treaties work?

Is tech trading working as intended? I can't seem to get any of the exclusive techs from other civilizations.

Would we be able to make an opposing civ our vassal? Essentially they wouldn't interact with other civs, not build colony ships, and would not culture flip to their owner.

with the ship combat when you watch will the cariers release fighters or will they already be out?

also when your doing an evasion will you be able to controll the ground troops like the total war games?

5 starbases around 1 planet lol
 i have 12

We have changed some of the distance requirements, so you might be getting away with more than we can, however, I would love to see how you did it if you can get me a screen shot?

Is this 12 after getting starbase range extension?

Do tell, so i can brake it ;)

I was wondering myself how this was being done. I notice the range increase form 5 to 6 between starbases.

Re: pirates.  I think Pirates would be cool as kind of a minor race, without a planet.  A travelling fleet where a dialog could be opened and they potentially could be reasoned with or traded with.  Or bribed to attack another race.  I just think a lot could be done with them beyond a civ barbarian role.

quote button seems to be broken atm

im not at my pc but i can kind of walk you through it

yes it requires the range extension

1) choose a planet move one tile diagonally up  left then 1 tile DIRECTLY up ( 2 moves)

2 ) repeat but going down.

these two starbases should be in a vertical line as close as possible to each other equi-distant from the planet and just out of line with the planet

3,4 ) these two starbases are placed in vertical line with the first two ( one above and one below) and as close as possible to the first two

all four of these should be in a straight line the two on the end need range extension

5-10) the next six can be placed in the corners created by any two of the first four bases ( three on each side) two more straight lines

11-12  the last two will go in the corners created by the three starbases closest to the planet

if your first two starbases were to the left of your planet the the last two will be on the right

incorrect instructions see further post

i will link a screenshot later

Its one of the techs i think in engineering i think its called starbase support or something like that

theres two techs each one increases starbase range by 2 for an increase of 4

okay so my earlier instructions were wrong the layout was right but if you followed them the last 2 starbases would be too far away.

so heres a few screenshots and some updated instructions

https://www.dropbox.com/s/xn6fsko2oh56awb/Screenshot%202014-11-09%2010.51.25.png?dl=0

in the second screenshot ive numbered the starbases and shown the range requirements from iridia. anything in green can be built without range extension, yellow requires one range extension module and red requires both

1-3 these can be built without range extension

1) the third tile away up and left

2) the third tile away down and left

3) the third tile away right

4-6 these need one level of range extension

4) 6th tile away up and right

5) 6th tile away down and right

6) 6th tile away left

7-12 need 2 levels of range extension

these 6 are place in the corners created by the previous 6 if that makes sense i will finish up a screenshot after work unfortunately i have to leave now good luck and have fun

Where is star base range extension?

its under engineering related to life suport the techs were called long range convoys and exploration extension ( or possibly market extension i just closed the game and need to get going)

That's a lot of pop.  You have to transport it in for the most part?

Ok, I love you guys. Don't take it wrong, but can you spell stuff right! Cheep, really? Please, cheap. I am not a grammar nut, but fingernails on the chalkboard. This isn't color vs colour, at least what I know of.

Yeah actually this game has only two (habitable)planets per race and the ai just keeps building transports and colony ships so i just keep buying them and sending them to iridia

I had gotten 7 but i had not tried to figure out if more could be done. That would sure give you some stats tho!!!

Thanks!!

Nasty!

Updated with replay.

That is amazing, sadly i will now brake it all so you cant do that anymore. ;) Just kidding, we had already broken this internally shortly after the last patch, you will still be able to do some crazy stuff, but i think we can say that a 47000 production planet will not be one of them.

Thanks for the screenshot, very fun.

heh im not done with that planet yet
