Request: Make Old Versions Playable as Betas on Steam

I have just bought EU4 on Steam, and it is a pleasant surprise that it allows you to play older patches of the game, by listing them as betas in the game properties dialog.

It is such a good idea; could Starclad do it for SoaSE?  It would not only allow us to play mods not updated for the latest patches, but also let us watch replays that were recorded with older versions of the game.

I've been thinking about this actually. We could do it for single-player only in order to support mods that haven't been updated yet.

Its sad how nonsensical proposals like this get more attention from the devs than long standing balance issues or technical problems.

It's not that they don't get attention, it's that: 1) I can only log technical problems, not fix them; 2) either we disagree about supposed balance problems or they go back to #1. ;)  On the other hand, I can do something about the OP request.

Out of curiosity, who has the ability/authority to make text changes? 

Also the EU4 feature is really nice, not only for modding but for finishing old games, getting old ConvertData's, and reverting back when waiting for a hotfix...while I think we've missed most of the window where that feature would have been nice, it couldn't hurt to have it...
