Multiple Titans

Can i has more Eradica?

Hmmm... I've been playing Rebellion for a while but somehow i just really wanted another titan or two... since i get attacked late game AIs by 4 to 1 ratio... Most of them are Ragnarov Titans.... i can kill two of them however my Eradica would die before even damaging half the 3rd one due to the immense support that all other 4 titans brought in... I came to conclusion that i need another one or two for the job!

I'm not new to modding but i'm not a pro either... you can actually say i am a noob in modding if it involves anything other than texts(Which i always test my mettle at)

So tell me... how can i have multiple titans.... There's no mod for it nor i can see it in the GAMEINFO folder...

You can only have one titan at a time, no clue about mods, but I doubt it.

You can have more, just search on these forums, Google is your friend. I remember not long ago there was a conversation about this and someone managed to have more titans at once. Should not be hard to find.

Oh, well there you go. lol

Haven't really bothered with any actual mods. xD

Well if you want to have a go at trying to mod it in, this is the thread where we discussed it and found a way to do it. However, it is not just changing a few lines in the files, in requires you to learn how to make entirely new abilities, so it may not be the easiest thing to start out modding.

As for existing mods, to my knowledge Sins of a Galactic Empire is the only one currently using this feature to allow multiple titans.

Somewhere I read you can give yourself multiple titans in the dev.exe, though I never used it, don't even know if it's really possible, or whether it causes any problems if you do it.

Others may know this dev.exe thing better than me.

Yes, you can also do this too, but that's basically cheat mode.  ;)

Isn't having multiple titans a cheat as well? :P

Not if you mod them in. You can set it up so the abilities have resource costs you have to pay, have a delay to simulate the construction time etc. In the dev.exe you can just spawn in any ship you like, kill anything you like, give yourself unlimited resources, make your ships invulnerable etc at the push of a button.

You have to make a new ability and put it on something you can build in game, like the titan foundry. You only need to change the player file if you want to say give the Advent a TEC titan.

yes i get the point that when i remake the skill, i will put it on the planet module entity rather than a player file.... well... Tec titans for every tec faction... hahahah!

Yes. I think I gave the simplest possible example (just changing the TEC Rebel's pirate mercenaries to spawn a titan instead) in that thread.

Hmm.... yes however i am planning to do it on Advent Rebels instead... how does that work?

If this still somewhat confusing for you, I would just try to do what I did with the TEC Rebel titan pirate mercenaries first, because that is just changing files, not adding any new ones. Once you have that down, your goal is to learn how to make new abilities by copying that one and giving it to the TEC titan foundry (read the modding stickies for the basics of adding new files to the manifest and stuff). Then once you have it working for one race you can make abilities for each faction's titan.

or you could just add them in on the galaxyscenario for all factions so its fair and balanced, just give your self as many as you give the other factions, then if they are all destroyed then you and the ai are reduced to factory single builds. Its how I did my mod.
