Space Ponies

I'm getting tired of failing to find this for the last achievement I need.  Anyone have a map I can download with this bonus right next to the home planet?  I can't seem to find a GalaxyScenarioDef file with the Space Ponies bonus included.

Its extremely random. There are some that have been playing this game since the beginning (2008) that still can't seem to find it. Flip side is, IIRC, you can mod the game to get it instantly.

Yes, that's what I'm looking for but I can't find the file for Galaxy Forge that includes the bonus and I don't know enough about the syntax used to code it myself.

I think I received my "Space Ponies" on a multi-star map.  Don't know if that is imprtant.

Though I am not worthy to receive you, only say the word and I shall be Bronied!

"Give the word Admiral!"
'"Mr. Scott, the word is given."
"Aye, Sir!"

And thus we are heretofore Bronied!

Easy to get. Just modify one of the random maps with many planets to have higher likelyhood of getting a planetary bonus (even 1 if you want). You need to rewrite some numbers here and there, i guess there is a thread on how to do it.

Play a game with occupation victory on...go to the occupation planet, colonize it, and explore it...IIRC, that planet spawns with space ponies by default...

It did in the beta, but they removed that. All of us early adopters got that achievement easy, the new guys have to work for it.  ;)

I'm not entirely sure if this is true. In my Enhanced 4X Mod all maps have a bonus density of 0.8, yet I have not noticed any more space ponies. Further as Seleuceia I think found you can get the space ponies bonus even on planets without them, so they may work on an entirely different mechanic.

It is a planetary bonus, isn't it? If it is, then it must appear faster with higher chances, right? Anyways I always got it fast (in original and in Rebellion) and did not have a problem with that, though I haven't seen one in a year now, now I consider it to be strange.. Maybe there was something done about it that removed the chance to find it? I remember not too long ago I got it fair often in planets that were remote from the battlefield.

Maybe the increased number of panet bonuses in the first DLC changed something?

Yes, but it is obviously a unique bonus. As I said before it will spawn on planets even without it explicitly listed as a planet bonus, so I don't think it uses the normal planet bonus spawning mechanic.

Then think of my prev comments as non existing :D

My experiences with that bonus tell me it is hard-coded....I have 2 reasons for this belief....

1) In my mod I have a planet bonus density of 1...space ponies does not seem any more prominent...Goa has essentially confirmed this with his mod as well...now to be fair, I haven't done a legit analysis of this so it may just be in both cases that it is "rare enough" where you can't distinguish a difference without actually counting it and doing the math....

2) Removing the space ponies planet bonus from the entity manifest can cause minidumps...it is entirely random and not particularly likely, but it can happen both when trying to start a new game and when trying to run sins at all...this tells me that any map that tries to spawn space ponies (including the frontend galaxy on the main menu) when it is removed from the manifest will cause a minidump...of course, if space ponies is removed from the entity manifest and the GSD and any planet entities, the only way the game would try and spawn it is if it is hardcoded....

Thus, I am fairly certain space ponies is hardcoded....the only thing you can really do force it to spawn on certain planets using the GSD or the planet entity files...
