Some thoughts on XP split and trained troops
Hello,
This is my other thoughts thread on a topic I have been pondering on for a while as well. I separated it as they are two fundamentally different issues but both are important.
My understanding of the trained troops having no split to their xp is to balance the fact that they have a large xp penalty and to encourage the use of single or dual heroes per army. This seems counter-intuitive to the point of an xp split. It should be an all or nothing for a split either everyone is applied equally to it or not. My suggestion to fix this is simply make the xp split apply to everyone trained troops and heroes equally but make the xp split again for trained troops by how many troops they have in a squad.
Base xp 100
Trained troop squad of 3.
Xp for single group of trained units is 100/3 = .33
If a two groups are in a fight together they each get half of that xp.
So (xp/2)*.33 = total xp each group gets.
If a Sov/champ is grouped they get their full share and do not have an individual xp split as they are a squad of 1.
This then makes it that xp is more valuable for individual units rather than armies. Armies can help win a fight but then you lose that valuable experience. To offset the loss of levels that would be inevitable by the reduced trained unit xp add in traits that increase total damage by 5% per level of trained troops since they can not gain new traits but are still getting stronger through battle experience/training. This coupled with the unrest reduction I mentioned in my other thread would make troops useful even if they are added to the xp split.
Anyways this was my other thought hope you guys ind it useful.
