Galaxy Forge help

Hello everyone. I'm a long time player (since vanilla Sins) and have followed since game ever since. I don't really play online except for compstomps with two of my friends. I've always found the in-game Map Maker extremely clumsy and difficult to use, but I recently stumbled onto the Galaxy Forge through a youtube video I found whilst looking for a tutorial on the map maker. So I made my map, saved it into the correct path (at least, I think so. C:User/Name/Documents/my games/Ironclad Games/Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion/Galaxy Forge), but when I actually launch the game, load up the map, and click Play, I get a minidump error at the loading screen and the game crashes. At first I thought this might be because I was running with a mod (the SOA2 Star Trek mod), so I disabled it and tried again, but then it just hung indefinitely until the game stopped responding and I had to close it. Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong? I know this is vague and I'll provide more info as requested. I just...don't know where to start.

You made the map with the Galaxy Forge in your game install folder, not the one downloaded for this site, right? The Galaxy Forge 3 you can download in the downloads section is only for Diplomacy and earlier.

Yes, I used the Galaxy Forge in the install folder. I didn't download anything.

Make sure you have the latest galaxyscenariodef file in with your galaxy forge. It should be there by default but checking never hurts.

I have a file in there called GalaxyScenarioDef.galaxyScenarioDef, last updated 6/18/2013. I play through Steam, so I'm pretty sure my game is always up to date.

does EACH of the player starts have the planet set as the homeworld?

Yes. It's a 6-player map, 3vs3 teams.

Each side has the three HomePlanets, three randomized planets straight ahead, then all link to a dead asteroid which you can fortify, as it's the only phase lane connecting the mirror empires.

Maybe you can post the map so we could check it for you?

If you plan on using google docs you'll need to change the permission settings so people can access it.

Try removing the space in "Galaxy Forge" in your C:/mygames path.

So just "GalaxyForge"...

There is no space. It's already "GalaxyForge"
