[FEEDBACK] [BUG] Giant Gas Sticky Unstable Gas Pockets

OK, i play today with Advent rebel in a random map,and my near opponent is Advent loyal, i have Halcyon carrier with 4 strike craft and 2 more of other capitals.

I came across some ships 2 iluminated and 1 Defense Vessel... my fighter go attack, and a strange pink cloud appears around Vesel, and 5 of my 6 scuadron, automatically die.

I never see this before

that skill is? or is a bug?

it totally looks like the gas pocket ability of the gas giants.. I have seen this happen many times with ships that recently went through a gas giant grav well and just jumped to a neighbouring well.. I think that ability is broken, as it does not stop being on ships, so when they die, an area attack of ~80 happens (not sure of the number). It should only happen on gas giant gravity wells, not on neighbouring ones..

Or maybe a hidden new ability? :P

Was there a gas giant next to this world? If yes, that may be a bug..

You've got Gas. Whenever anything dies it does 80 damage to anything within 750 range.

No, all the pictures are right next to a gas giant from what I have observed. Its the gas giant gas pocket planet feature. That's what's happening to the fighters. It is strong enought to wipe out even Vasari Bombers in one shot.

Yes, I remember this too, pictures would be good, showing that this happens at an xy type planet too, I think the effect of Gas Giants sticks on the ship that leaves that gravity well for some time. And it shouldn't.

That's not possible.

Then how do you explain seeing those nice explosions near a planet that was not even near a gas giant? Hopefully the guy will post some nice pics on this. Or maybe I was just so tired I was hallucinating?? :D I dont think so...

I'm going with this.

The ability cancels when ships enter hyperspace. If that finish condition was broken it would occur on many many more abilities.

In the last 2 picture, enemys scuadron go BOOM!, against the "pink gas of dead"... 8|

look, the "pink gas of dead" seems to affect my enemy too, I thought it was the defense vessel, because it was the first time that happened to me, but now looking good, it  appears random in the gravity.

I pass through giant gas, to get access at moon planet.

An observation, in the same game, fought against the TEC, but this effect does not appear, only against Loyal Advent.

SO... DAFUC IS THAT! o_O

Yes, the key is passing through the gas giant..

ZombiesRus5, the impossible is happening :D

But i have an asteroid belt, after the moon.

Explain what happen againt please... i never see this before, before only get damage between the radius of effects.

Is that?, I thought the damage was only within gas giant, and not outside of it.

If is not a bug. Sorry

You yourself said that you pass a Gas Giant to get to this Dwarf planet.. but here you try to explain something else..

I remember from my previous AI games, at one time I saw this happen to me too, gas pockets go boom after my ship is dead, but it wasn't at a gas giant.. And it should only happen there.

Its a bug if that is whats happening. It should be easy to reproduce (obviously).

He's dead. - It's true.

I saw him die. Like those people down there will die.

Are you sure you saw what you saw?

dev.exe doesn't show what buffs are active on fighters :(

My assumption at this point is it only affects fighters. You should immediately send your fighters as mobile mines towards enemy units after exiting a gas giant ;)

Or the developers can modify the finish condition to apply to linked squads (docked strikecraft) too.

Yeah, its quite possible that since fighters technically don't enter hyperspace themselves, the gas giant buff never gets removed. That's a crazy one...  x_x

LOL like Advent drone mines, just better :P

You did not believe this is happening, this effect is sticking on your stuff..

I have a question.. Is it supposed to effect strike craft? This gas pocket..?
