Fix your Minidumps - Sandy and Ivy Bridge Processors

Ok guys, so I built a computer about 4 months ago, and with all this discussions about minidumps, I would like to share with you some experience.  With my new build, I minidumped often.  I updated all my drivers, still nothing.  Then, for whatever reason I decided to get the update for Virtu, you know, the shitty on-core graphics hybrid software.  Guess what, the onboard graphics engine was crashing the game.  So, piece of advice, get the latest Virtu and you won't minidump.

And yes, I have a dedicated graphics card so it was about the last thing that I thought would cause a minidump.

So did I.  Like I said, for whatever reason, having the Virtu software installed solved the problem.

and I have not had a dump in my i7 2600k system, but I did not install the virtu as I did not know what it was or was supposed to do, and with my ati 7850 it would not have helped the gpu performance

It's likely motherboard dependent.  Not all of them even utilize the gpu functions in sandybridge.
