Stardock Opens Online Store, Preorders Open for Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion

Stardock opens brand new online store. Players can preorder Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion or purchase the original Sins, plus Galactic Civilizations and more.

Stardock has opened its brand new online store just in time for that holiday shopping you've been meaning to do. The very neatly organized shop will let you purchase Galactic Civilizations, War of Magic, Sins of a Solar Empire and its DLC, and other games. You can also preorder the Rebellion expansion for Sins of a Solar Empire through the store.

Rebellion, which launches on December 1st, is a full major expansion for the game. You can become a Loyalist or a Rebel this time around, each side unlocking its own trees and tech. It also features new ships across several categories and Loyalist and Rebel versions of some existing ships, as well as added ship ability levels. There's integration with Impulse via GameStop for achievements and chat too."

It also happened to be not true. They clearly did not ask Stardock for confirmation on the stated release date, because Yarlen already mentioned it will be released in spring 2012 instead of december 1st.

Besides, there already is a similar thread about the article on RTSGuru.com, so please make sure you check the other posts on the forum first before posting something you think is new...

I brought it to the attention of a Stardockian in another thread and it's been rectified (on the store at least).

LOL, Yarlen has already confirmed Spring 2012.  Dec 1st was a place holder date way back when they were first taking pre-orders.

Stand down everyone, at ease.

When you say spring is that spring northern hemisphere or southern hemisphere?

Might be easier if you said 2nd or 3rd quarter or month ;)

Coming from the southern hemisphere using seasons for release is quite annoying...

As for the time slipping, as long as you tell us it is changing I don't mind.

Well both Stardock and Ironclad are based in North America, so I'm pretty sure you know which one, but you do have a point. ;)

Were we lead to believe they were further along than they actually are?

I wouldn't use the term led.  It's probably more accurate to say that fans led themselves to believe it, similar to mass hysteria.
