[MOD] [NEED HELP WITH THINGS] Darkness Race - Vasari Ancient Enemy

This is all I currently have for the Darkness, lore-wise.

I was thinking of doing a mod based off the ancient enemy of the Vasari.  (See lore)  Would anyone take any interest in it?

 

 

Things that need to be done:

-I need a modeler to finish models.

-Finish the Galaxy Scenario Def file.

-Finish the manifests.

 

That's all I have for now.

The biggest problem I have with a playable "Darkness Race" is that, from the canon, it sounds like it'll be way too overpowered if it ever arrives.

If, as you described in ICO, its main weapon is a giant Titan which serves as its base of operations, which can Dominate any ship which comes close to it... it will basically come down to the Trinity Alliance (that's what I'm naming the TEC/Advent/Vas) attempting to build as many carriers and bombers as possible before the Titan comes to homeworlds.

But that would only be for the final battle, of course.

I also don't really like the idea of the Darkness enemy falling into the same stupid AI mistakes the normal AI does, like suiciding their entire fleet on your starbases. It would really be underwhelming from an enemy so hyped up to be fearful. But unfortunately the AI is not moddable...

True, but that would only work when the Titan's in play, which would only be at the very end of the game... right?

I'm still convinced that it's just a massive cloud of nanites gone mad.  Of course, I say "just" which also means, well...  Hehe...  

Besides, a Vasari enemy is going to be absurdly overpowered and the only match for it would be a Trinity Alliance.  I really do feel that if the tutorials were made moddable (aka we can make campaigns), some expert modder with way way way too much time on their hands would create a campaign with the last few battles played through from the perspective of the Trinity Alliance.  Incredibly advanced, the Alliance would have all the benefits of the pacts already built-into itself.  All research would be far better than ever before.  And probably the only way to truly beat such a threat would be to mass Novaliths and Kosturas.  Pound the enemy clouds of nanites with Kosturas while annihilating the infected planets with Novaliths before they too can be used by the enemy.

The Titan would be the only capital ship.  And there would only be one frigate.  The Darknesses ships would have no offensive firepower, thereby relying on the Domination ability.

Countermeasures.  I would think that the Darkness would have developed an effective counter to at least phase missles.

Dude... NOTHING counters Phase Missiles except Adaptive Forcefield. You can counter the ships, but not the missiles. They'll hit you before you fighterwhack, HC, or bum rush them.

Then I revert back to Phase Missiles, and spam them until your defenses fall, while pondering what a superior race is doing with a TEC ability, only passive.

in the dev version of the game, if you go ctrl+shift+period, you'll bring up a panel and I believe that the code to kill a ship is acb, though it might be adb.  I don't remember exactly.

Well, i have some old models make year ago for something similar to your planned mod... it was for the dark race...

I have no time for finish these model... some have minor modeling error who need to be corrected, some are not yet with UV and only one is textured ( destructor )... use Vasari name for their function... if one of the model please you, i can upload it... once you have found a modeler, he can finish the job
