Help me understand the expansions

I bought the two Sins expansions over the weekend and just assumed that they would be seamlessly integrated into the base game like a traditional expansion, so I was a little surprised to see that the main Sins menu has the option to play either Entrenchment or Diplomacy.  Do we have to choose which features we want from game to game, or is there a way to play with all features from both expansions available?

Just playing with Diplomacy will include all expansions and options from previous versions.

Diplomacy includes Diplomacy, Entrenchment, and Original Sins.

Entrenchment includes Entrenchment and Original Sins.

Original Sins is just itself.

Yes, that does help.  Thank you.

I assume the reason they're divided up like that is for multiplayer.
