disabling impulse now adverts

i've noticed that SD has started advertising using impulse now's systray icon and ballons.

i'm not sure if it's because i've just upgraded from XP (where i had ballons disabled) to WIN 7 (where i actually don't mind the ones i get) or a new tack in the marketing dept, but i'm not a huge fan of my computer trying to sell me things.

any way to turn this off? or do i just need to remove impulse now completely?

I am unable to find this "show balloons for promotions" option.  Perhaps it was removed?  I have a business pc and cannot have this program showing advertisements during my workday.  I would prefer not to uninstall impulse as I like the functionality.  Anyone have any suggestions?  I looked in the file menu in impulse and found preferences but did not find any "show balloons..." option.

Any help would be appreciated.

It's not in the Impulse options. Impulse Now is a separate tray app. Right click on the icon in the task bar, and you will be able to disable the popups there. You should also be able to disable Impulse Now from starting up automatically as well, I believe.
