Debris Vortex and Frontal Deflector Shield

What do the different levels do? Does Debris Vortex heal more with more debris? Does level 2 heal you more? I assume so but there is nothing in the game that says so and the ENTITY files are just a jumble of characters. How much damage does the deflector shield absorb at levels 1 and 2? Does anyone know? Thanks

I don't know about the debris vortex, as I think level 1 is sufficient.  For the deflector, I think it's 100% for level 1 and 200% for level 2.  However, again, these are old numbers as I find that only 1 of each of these is enough,  I would rather spend the other 6 upgrades on armor and weapons.

Agreed, I use only 1 of each. The +20% damage upgrade is tempting but it reduces longevity too much. Now I just want to know how much Debris Vortex heals for

first level pulls in all debris within 7000 range, and once it gets within 100 range "eats" it for 12 health. lasts 45 seconds

level 2 has 10000 range and heals for 16 health/piece. 60 seconds

So it DOES heal more for each piece of debris! That really is useful to know, thanks

How does Frontal Deflector Shield reduce damage by 200%?

Wouldn't the StarBase gain health by being attacked? Probobly a stupid question.

100% reduction means it takes half damage and 200% means it takes 1/4 damage. Sins is silly like that

OFFTOPIC (but related): ive heard that the Vasari Starbases are able to phase jump, is this true?

That is really odd.

No, the Vasari StarBase can move around a grav-well, but it cant phase jump. Some people wanted it to be able to do that back in the beta. Thast probobly where you heard that.

That stinks, i think it should be able to phase jump.  Since the Vasari do not have an anti-structure ship, it should be thier starbase (the downside is that it should take longer to phase jump and have a 10 second cooldown, in which it is vulnerable/disabled)

but then, you could have tons of starbases added to your fleet, making it nearly unstoppable. you could build one in each gravwell, then they could all phase jump to one spot. even w/ just one starbase, it would be a huge advantage.

and besides, the devs tried to get it better at anti structure w/ the disintegrator weapon and faster building in enemy territory. it's not quite ideal, but in my opinion, that starbase has an advantage over the others since it can move, and is effective with players that actually would go around the starbase (unlike the ai). So, they maybe were trying to balance it out a little.

what combinations are people using.

eg 1 point in Debris Voetex, 1 point Deflector,  2 points in attack and 2 defence ?

or is it better to use 1 Debris V, 3 points attack and 2 defence.

or another combination.    what about squadron bays ?  IS  a point in squadron bays better than say the final 20% damage attack point ?

any consensus on what a Vas sB must include as a minimum ?

As of Rebellion the Vasari Rebels can now move around their starbases (Phase Jumping), which is one reson why they have the most powerful lategame military.

Nice necro. Especially with a comment that does not fit the OP.

Incorrect. 200% reduced damage means 1/3 damage not 1/4. Sims calculates reductions by actually reducing by the inverse of the listed value.  A 200% increase would be a x3 multipliar ergo a 200% decrease is actually a division by 3 which in this case means 1/3 damage.

Wow, 3 year old thread.  Not even closely related to Rebellion.  Bravo.
