GalCiv II fails to start

Help me start conqouring the galaxy !

I jsut purchased the Ultimate Edition of GalCiv II, installed with no problems but it refuses to run :(. The launcher splash screen comes up, I click "Play the Game" and then a black square appears, nothing more. I have to force end the process :\

Go into your MyDocuments/MyGames/GC2Ultimate(I have the expansions seperate so it may not be called exactly GC2Ultimate) and look for the prefs.ini file. Open it up with note pad and change Res to DisplayWidth=1440
DisplayHeight=900 near the tope of the file. Save it and start it up :) .

hmmm, that usually fixes that. You could also try to set it to windowed mode at your desktop resolution by changing the Fullscreen to =0 in that same file. If it works the game will appear fullscreen though it is technically windowed.

It worked ^_^ Wierd..once it started working I could set it back to Fullscreen and no problems starting it any more. :o In anycase thank you :)
