HOLY SHIT I PLAYED a 5v5!! (beta version)

I know you guys won't believe me, but seriously, we made that shit work. And it was awesome. Well for the first 9 levels... then 2 people on their side raged quit and we rolled them from there.

The host I joined had a system for setting up the 5v5 that I feel I should share with the rest of you. Very simply he basically closed most of the slots and slowly opened them up one by one to let people join one at a time, waiting till everyone was connected before opening another slot. If someone had an asshole connection, joined and couldn't connect it was much easier to know he was the problem and boot him (which only happened once).

Suprisingly the game was pretty much lag free and it played out quite nicely (other than the rage quits).

Anyways, just to let people know not to give up hope and that 5v5 is possible!

Great to hear, and I like the idea about the slots!

must be nice, the game is running like total garbage for me now.

Massive interface lag when navigating the GUI to log in/join/refresh, games wont start, yadda yadda yadda

The only time I got a 5v5 working the other team all switched to Rook right before hitting launch.  10 Rook towers in the beginning = a no go.

Anyone knows how I can go back to the current stable version of Demigod? Cuz after I switched to BETA I could not go back to the normal verison....

yes. Just uninstall the game, then reinstall and download the first "Official patch" make sure you uncheck the show pre-release versions option in impulse so you dont accidentially redownload the beta's

Yeah I played in an actual 4v4 for the first time without anybody dropping...

To go back to normal, just turn off "show pre-release versions" then click verify install. I think that goes back to the old update.

There's a simpler way. Turn off the "Show pre-release" option, then right-click on Demigod and select "verify install", it will say that your install is borked and then say that an update is available. Install that and you'll be back to the pre-beta version.

some people have all the fun :'(

Oh yeah?  I played FOUR since it was released.  :D

Nice. I was thinking that would be a good method. If a few join at the same time, you can't tell who's bugging up the place.

And that makes them an asshole?

C'mon, this place i better than that........

^ ummmm yes?

and yeah some people do purposley or stupidly tie up games, on purpose or not it is still very annoying...

I haven't been able to play a 5 vs 5 since beta.  Also, Azrailx, it is purposely not purposley.

I can't even get into a 3v3 without my computer spiking and ruining the game *jealous*.

I can hardly wait to play 5v5s, that's going to be fantastic.   I love this game in general anyway, but it'll make it all the more exciting and interesting.   Clan matches should be a blast...

I fortunately joined when they already had 7 people connected so I only had to wait about 5 minutes, but I imagine the whole process takes a little over 15 minutes to get it all going. There also seems to be a bug when too many people leave the lobby/get booted that it ends up bugging up the whole lobby so no new people can join :(

I also tried a 5v5 game yesterday. The beta patch seems to work wonders for me at least.

Before I could only connect to a few people, and then I got the "failed to connect to:..." and naturally was booted.

I havent played for 2 weeks I think, since yesterday. Because I didn't wanna waste time, trying to get into games, which properly could succeed in 1 out of 10 tries.

Anyway with this new beta patch it seems to work, gonna try with a few more games tomorrow.

The only thing preventing our 5v5 to be awesome, was one or two people who had negative sim speed, and it slowed us all down :/
