Multiplayer problems in Canada on Bell DSL? Then look here...

Bell currently throttles P2P for all DSL customers between 4pm and 4am, try playing a multiplayer game not during those times and watch how well it works.

And the way around that is to use a router with Tomato/MLPPP firmware and DSL reseller such as Teksavvy. However Demigod is apparently the only game on earth that doesnt work with Tomato/MLPPP so we get screwed both ways. Maybe once stardocks new proxy servers go live it will work with MLPPP, will see.

Can I do this to my bell 2701HG-G router/modem?

You need a Linksys WRT54GL router. You then flash it with this firmware: http://fixppp.org/  . Then turn on MLPPP. Your provider needs to support it. Bell doesnt. Their resllers like Teksavvy do. By turning on MLPPP you change the packets and dont ever get throttled. But right now that dont work with Demigod which is a royal pain.

make sure you contact Bell, and if you can, contact your local MP or MPP or whatever, the federal one, I think it's MP.  Mine's old ass Peter Kent so he won't understand, but I walked into his "office" in a plaza nearby and explained everything, but he refused to meet me.  This is our freaking civillization they are playing with when they mess with the internet.
