Modding harder with Beta 3 Entrenchment

It seems that modding has been taken to a new level for the new beta 3. With both 1.14 and Entrenchment in the same directory there is a new Entrechment folder that has entrenchment game files.. Now I just found out that Entrenchment is using both 1.14 texture, window directory files ect including its own.. Can the Developers simplify this to make complete seperate directories with no directories being shared!! Its annoying!!

huh does that mean the mods have to have there own Entrenchment folder within the mod folder?

would seem so, its rather anoying to be honest since all game data is split directly between the two folders and if its not in the right place it does not get read. (or so it would seem)

Hmmmm.... interesting thought... that hadnt occurred to me until you said it.  You may be right, i will give it a try and see what happens, let you know.  :)

:(  No, no change.  Well, it was a good idea!  :)  Worth a try, but we may have to wait for the devs to clarify this, or if its not supposed to be that way yet, then to fix it. But i think Blair said its a completely changed engine now, with all the changes since the beta's started, so they probably have their hands pretty full just getting it all to mesh together.

Anyway, thank you for the idea,

remember to have consistance files. its the Entrenchment folder that takes priority over normal sins it would seem, just got to remember to keep everything updated. id try (modfolder)\(Modname)\Entrenchment\(modname) and see. or you can be like me and just hardedit the files in the entrenchment folder.

didn't work. i tried

Mods\SoA 2.0.03d\Entrenchment

Mods\SoA 2.0.03d\Entrenchment\SoA 2.0.03d

i tired to mimic the game folder and put in the manifest files. Made new a new player file for 1 of my races. updated the GalaxyScenerioDef file for 1 race, and only added 1 ship for that race, it just doesn';t find it at all

I also tried:

1. Mods\[Mod Name]

2. Mods\[Mod Name]\Entrenchment

3. Mods\[Mod Name]\Entrenchment\[Mod Name]

only in the first try at least my strings work, all other changes do not appear (eg. hud textures)
