any manual around yet?

hi there

i'm not really good in figuring out a games mechanics while playing, so there are several things i'm not sure about. some kind of manual/general infos would be nice - does something like that exist yet?

what i'm interested in particularly are detailed informations about:

  1. how, when and which skills scale (with your level, i'd presume? especially the attributes skill - it seems, the bonus is rather small, so i figured, it might scale)
  2. how to make money and how much do you get with the different possibilities
  3. complete skill/upgrade-trees to look at while not playing (during the hectic game i don't have time to read everything carefully *g* and it'd be nice to know what your enemies can do)
  4. flags: list of and what they are for (the not so obvious ones)
  5. how does armor work exactly (whats better - 100 armor or 500 hitpoints more, and so on)
  6. permanent items: are they always the same (as opposed to the item shop, which varies, i think), can I reset a demigod (selling is not possible, it says - but maybe resetting and redoing the achievments?) and how to buy a new item if you already have one? (how to open the shop again *g*)
  7. some kind of tactics/strategies for beginners,  general as well as for the different demigods themselves (ok, i've figured out some things, but the first battle was rather.. strange.. for me at least.. i picked a general without knowing what to do with him, so I ended up with never buing any minions and dying a LOT *g* ok, now i've learned, but for others such infos might help a lot to get the game started)
  8. do the priest-grunts heal demigods or only other grunts? (if they do, it might be reasonably to protect them)
  9. if NOT all shortcuts are listed in the settings: the additional keyboard shortcuts and their use

 

well, thats all i can think of for the moment. if you have some answers, i'd happily compile them, for others to find and read them easier instead of searching the forum for hints ;-)

1) I'm not sure what you mean here.  As far as I know, spells only get stronger when you "buy" the next level of that spell.

2) I don't know exactly how much but you get gold for controlling flags with gold mines (this gives a steady income) and from killing enemy units/Demigods.

5) [2500 / (2500 + armor)] * 100 = the percent of damage you take from normal attacks

6) "Permanent" items don't exist right now; you have to re-buy them every game.  As far as I know, all items are the same for all Demigods on all maps.  You can get a different achievement item every game right now :)

8) They heal Demigods; I don't know if they heal normal units.

frogboy: cool! thanks for answering so quickly. i think it would really help - because now, you first have to figure out how to play the game, before you can even consider doing real betatesting ;-) (if i know what to expect, its easier to find out if something doesnt work right)

1. well, i just thought they should scale. i thought, offensive spells should make more damage if my demigod is an allmighty lvl 25, compared to the feeble lvl1 demigod. but thats just my assumption, i didn't even think about the skill values being fixed ;-) the attributes bonus is rather weak - does it even make sense, in that case?

2. i guess, the mines have a fixed gold/second income (maybe 2 per mine) which can be upgraded to +2, +4, +6 per mine, so 2 mines highest lvl will probably generate about 16 gold per second.. just an assumption, i havent actually counted ;-)

5. ah, that makes sense. scales rather good (made a few testcase calculations. getting below 50% will be quite hard *g*)

6. great, makes it easier to test them and their value ;-)

8. do you know for how much they heal?

I think priests heal 10% of a Demigod's total health.
