[Bug] Auto Attack Allies

software

Minor software bug noticed while playing Romulus in which asassin will occasional auto attack friendly units.  No damage dealt (no friendly fire) but ties up character who continues to attack own unit instead of enimes.  This friendly unit also seems to take priority over other units, as after prompting a new target, once a selected new target is killed Romulus auto targets original friendly unit.  This bug also applied to the flag in the centre of map.  Romulus would auto fire on it endlessly unless prompted to do otherwise and would treat it as a hostile unit.

That's very odd. Is it all types of friendly unit or just a few particular ones? I've never noticed that happening, so it may be your system. Would you do me a favor and get the gauntlets of rokkur and see if you can do splash damage to enemies or whether the splash damage is nulled? I'm curious and it may be useful for debugging. Thanks.

It was the lizard artiliary, and only a specific single unit.  I have yet to recreate the bug again.  I'm sorry that I wasn't keeping track of what equipment I had on. I'll pick up the gauntlets of rokkur and see if I can recreate the bug.

Thanks, that may give some info as to where the screwup is happening. It's a very odd bug, and I don't think the equipment had anything to do with it. It may have been a rare, one-time thing, or something so rare and based on some very odd occurrences that you may not be able to recreate it. Shame we can't save in this beta, or you could send a save of the bug occurring.

My last three attempts to recreate the bug have failed.  I think your suggestion that it is very rare is spot on.  All attempts made with gauntlets of rokkur have been negative to recreate.  As you suggest I also do not feel that it was equipment that caused the bug, but rather a series of events that may have occured while I was fighting in the centre of the map.  Of course, if it happens again I will notify you and attempt to present more data.

Okay, excellent. It's a very odd bug to just randomly pop up. The reason I recommended the gauntlets of Rokkur was to see how the splash damage was affected, which could've provided some interesting/useful info, but it seems to be an event that only occurs when the planets line up a certain way, and I don't know if there's much more you could do to get the devs any useful data.

Seeing that mines are buggy, I'd think the catapult was standing near a mine and your hero was trying to shoot the mine. It happens alot with towers.

That makes a lot of sense. Have you had any problems with auto attacking mines?

I hadn't considered mines, but I also do not know the standard amount of health for a mine.  I did observe that Regulus at a high level continued to fire at the same spot (and not in a shot ground kind of way) and when selecting alternative targets would auto select that spot again after the new target was destroyed.  If these spots were mines then, as suggested, it would explain alot, but then why did the artiliary lizard not set it off, and why could I not kill them?  These objects were the target of extended attack, longer than most NPC's should endure.

Again, if I can replicate or experience this bug another time I will try to observe as much as possible and report the specifics.

Mines are glitched. There are people who have noticed all their units attacking mines, and those mines haven't gone off even when meleed, so I think that it may be that same glitch, but it may be something different. I wonder if mines  behave poperly after their regulus dies?
