Different Planetsizes Sol-System-Mod [UNDER CONSTRUCTION]

Our Solarsystem (under construktion)

hello guys,

i create a mod for our sol-sys.

the idea was different sizes vor every planet, so as real the moon is a little mouse and the gasgiants are big bad lions.

here some screenshots:
btw: the texture for the last planet(neptun-size) isnt ready, so its a dummy ;)

and sorry for my terrible english, i´m a german modder :D

for all the german speaking guys, follow this link to the soase.de-forum
there is a thread with background informations

Earth:

Mars:

with cities ;)

the Moon:

and now different sizes:

Yes I see 'was Sie sagen' and its an interesting gameplay point.

Problem is the Solar system Sun/star is soooo large by comparison only Jupiter and possibly Saturn would be a suitable gameplay comparison, you have to bend the rules of the other planets.

Not to mention the scale of the ships vs. stars/planets they are already stretched to extreme.
sure, Jupiter and Saturn too big (bigger than the sun now)
but the sizes are variable...so i think its no problem to find a scale for a good gameplaying

I like the idea alot! Also, that earth u made is sweet, it looks very realistic.

thanks  :D but its not the final version, it shows the first steps  ;)
i create normal-maps too, then the mountains and the north-/southpole are more realistic...hopefully

Jupiter...very very big planet

and here, the first try for Venus

wow! this is great work. The vanilla scale kind of bothers me. Can the suns be resized as well? Also will this be able to be randomized in game. Will planets overlap each other and cause problems? I assume that custom maps will have to be used.

thank you :) and yes the sun and every objekt can resized
there are no problem with overlap, in cutom maps you must take a large system...change the entry for the starradius in the ".galaxy"-files...500 or more ;)

Just a quick question, you can adjust phase jump speed independently, right?

It would be nice to not only have correct size scale for planets/stars/stations/ships, but also correctly scaled distances between them as well, without changing gameplay (very large increases in distances offset by equally large increases in travel speed?)

Also, that is seriously jaw dropping work :CONGRAT:
Haha, leave Mars with only two resource asteroids. Any chance you can rename resource asteroids? (Phobos and Deimos?)

yes of curse ;)

its a good idea, but i think about the moon-tutorial from HammerSun for these kind of moons...greater moons with an aperture more than 1000km will be an extraplanet

btw: i hope you understand my english :NOTSURE:

WOW. This mod is amazing. I would love to see this when it is released. The texturing is superb, being a texurer myself. Earth and Jupiter really are the best I have seen.
With your permission, when this mod come out, I would like to merge in into both SINS PLUS and 7 DEADLY SINS.
Absolutley fantastic job. Keep it up!

wow most impressive mate, the size of objects has been bothering me from the start, your work is impressive keep on doing it mate!

btw, klasse arbeit, mach bloss weiter, hast talent :-)

Maybe it's just the angle or lighting of the pictures, but I think the "NEW" Neptune is the better looking of the two. The "OLD" one looks too matte and too bright.

Fantastic work man! Eagerly awaiting your release! Would like to use it in other things as well if you don't mind.

Could we possibly get some pic's with a Capitol ship next to the planet for scale like you did with jupiter?
@Scius
danke, sowas hört man immer gern =) und bei solchen kommentaren mag man auch nicht aufhören, auch wenns oft etwas nervtötend ist bis man endlich die einstellungen gefunden hat die man wünscht

@Chewybond
its the angel "and" the lighting...i take a new screenshot and you can see its not too matte or too bright...and when its done you can ask me again for your "other things" ;)

@Unheradninja
sure i will take some screenshots with an capitalship ans jupiter for you

and now the Saturn...with ships, to see how big is that planet

Can i fall of my seat now? Or is there even more to come? Great work!

 thanks...but there come much more...now i work on the moon from Jupiter...Io, Europ, Ganymed and Callisto...after that i go to Titan Rhea ect...as you see there is yet a lot of work for me ;)

So pretty... I love the scale shots - they make everything feel even more epic (more epic than vanilla Sins?! I KNOW! )

We just have to up the ship speeds so that they can traverse a gravity well in a reasonable amount of time. More details: can you increase the gravity effects for larger planets? I know that Sins has gravity built in so that moving toward a planet is faster than moving away from one, but could you make the effect more pronounced around larger/more massive planets?

Io is lovely. Is Titan next or are you going to fill out Jupiter more before moving on to Saturn? ;p

holy moley, those are huge planets!!! good work!

I have a suggestion for when you finish the solar system. Can you increase the size of the current gas giants in game? And then add a category for "gas giants" that include the solar system models. It would increase the variety of gas giants for random maps.

not sure if it is possible but it would be great.

another idea i had was to make gas giants more strategic in that you could place 6 or so resource asteroids around it, but keep it uncolonizable, that way you would have to defend it with ships. Not sure if you could use crew extractor ability around a planet though.

keep up the great work :D
