No Manual, Gal Civ II Dread Lords.

Guys, can you please advise. I bought Gal Civ II Dread Lords from an on-line UK retailer, at almost retail price. When it arrived it had German writing on the back and there was no manual inside. The retailer said that the manual is possibly one of those on CD manuals. Personally, I would of thought that for such a complex game a manual would of been a obvoius inclusion. I hate these CD manuals and thought that they were only included when the game goes budget on another label, and I dont believe this has yet. And why should I be expected to print out the manual when I havent got a printer? Does it or doesnt it come with a booklet type manual please, many thanks, Chris.

Which retailer, specifically? It's possible it is a used or counterfeit copy. All new retail boxes should have printed manuals (*and* a PDF version in the game's folder).

Thanks for the reply Kryo. I didnt want to shame the retailer by mentioning their name, (yet). It was wrapped in cellophane but as I said, the writing on the back was in german and I didnt want to install the game because of CD key limititations but nevertheless there was no manual and Im certainly not going to use a PDF version of it. I have sent it back registered post, (more expence) and we shall wait to see what happens. But from what you are telling me I should look forward to having a booklet type manual, thanks for the reply.

I got the newest german version (budget, Euro 9,95) and it also didn't include a printed manual, but that was expected. Perhaps you got this version, too?

Yes, thanks for that post Florian. Looks like thats what the retailers are trying to do, save themselves a few pennies at my expence. Your post has angered me sadly. Why do these retailers try it on with us consumers in the hope of ripping them off? Its beyond me. i have learnt my lesson and wont use them again.According to a quote in on of their e-mails, they were nominated twice for retailer of the year, one by the Golden Joystick awards, and the other by MCV, whoever they are. I would like to add that even though I checked the box for NO e-mails regarding advertising from the company, they are still sending me such e-mails! I think its about time I named them. they are: GAMESEEK.
