Anyone else let down by this game?

I've been following the development of this game since the beginning, but I've found that the final product is a real letdown. When you create a candidate you can't even define your position on specific issues, you're just created as a standard dem or repub using endorsements to define how lib or cons you are. The map overlays are terrible and not much of a help. Election eve has absolutely no suspense as you are flown around the map by the game camera and simply told who won what without specifics. And though I've heard that you can be invited to do interviews I still have yet to have the opportunity to do so. It's hard to imagine that an entire campaign would go by without at least one. I know a lot of people are enjoying this product, but I was really hoping for something along the lines of the old power politics game, something with a little more realism and control.

But you ARE asked to do interviews. When the little TV camera of your candidate's color pops up in a state, you fly over to that state and it automatically asks if you want to give the interview. You just have to keep an eye out for them.
