Ermm. Did someone forget the pause feature?

Pause/Break key usually found up near your Print Screen and Scroll Lock keys, but it depends on the keyboard. You can look at the key bindings in the options menu to find any key and change them, as well.

Hmm .. That doesn't work though? At least it didn't last night when someone actually needed to pause. The game kept moving and the credits, crystal, and Iron kept growing and you could move your ships? Am I missing something extremely obvious? I feel so embarrassed if this is the case, but seriously, the pause/break button was not working for either of the players?

Not sure if you can pauze in multiplayer, might be some switches for that in creation of games. (haven't played multiplayer yet, getting to grips with single first )

You can pause in multiplayer, at least in online games you can. I did it last night several times during a 4 hour game with my friend whenever he got a cell phone call. Just hit the "Pause/Break" key, usually to the right of scroll lock. it is possible you have one of those weird keyboards that use "Function Lock" to have multiple things on all the keys along that top row so you may need to toggle that to get it to work.

I could not find pause anywhere in the key bindings menu so i'm not totally sure you can change it to another key at this point or not. It could be i just overlooked it.

Pause button does nothing for me in multiplayer (direct IP game), although it works in single player just fine so it's not a keyboard problem. It is in the bindings menu near the bottom as "Toggle Pause."

You can pause in both singleplayer and multiplayer. If the pause button doesn't work you probably a stupid F-Lock keyboard like I do so you need to remap the pause button in the keybindings section of options.

If the pause button isn't working for you, ESC (F10 with v1.02) will bring up the options/load/save menu, which is a defacto pause.
