Good review text but don't agree with review score of 8.

I have Supreme Commander. I'm a player of Supreme Commander. This blows away Supreme Commander and they gave that a 9.

Seriously, I cannot see how any objective review would ever rate Supreme Commander, a good game, higher than Sins which is a great game.

Sins is better than Supreme Commander on every apples to apples comparison. It has better graphics than SC. Its Internet connectivity actually works on day 1 unlike SC which took months to get desync errors. The units in Sins make more sense. There's less cheese. It has better scaling. It works on more machines.

Funny, I didn't have problems with SC, nor do I understand why you are making a big deal about it. SC was a good game, but that's irrelevant.

Please don't turn this into one of those "they gave such and such this score, so they suck!!" topics.

Heck, the reviewer even states:

"Even Supreme Commander, the first real-time strategy (RTS) game that let players zoom out to get a strategic view of an entire continent or planet, couldn't capture the incredible scope that Sins of a Solar Empire covers."

i think it is relevant if they gave sc a 9 and sins an 8.

sc had big problems at first with desyncs. i remember them well and so do many others. it tooks until the first couple patches to get it reliable. just do a google on supreme commander and desyncs and you can find lots of talk.

supreme commander is a good game but like the op said, definitely not better than sins.

Not sure why really, is it so you guys can denounce the review as faulty? Never mind that is presumably done by a different reviewer. Heck SC generally got good ratings across the board.

Need proof?

I guess you guy's will have a laundry list of sites not to trust.

I said I never had problem, and doubtful I'm the only one. In terms of better, that is merely subjective, since everyone is not going to like the slower pace of Sins.

If you dont feel it deservse an 8, or you feel the game was misrepresented in anyway feel free to post your own reviews on the site. They have a link to do so.

Hype = High Reviews.

Oblivion, Supreme Commander, Bioshock - all games that were severe letdowns with ridiculously high reviews.

Yes, that's right. Oblivion was utter trash, Supreme Commander was as deep as a dried-up oil stain, and Bioshock was repetitive, linear, and dumbed-down.

Since this is turning into trash SC thread: I hated SC. Playing it made me feel like I played this game before, and I did, it was called TOTAL ANNIHILATION. SC was exact same game as TA with better graphics, one more side, and more bugs. And overall it sucked balls cause it was all about keeping your units moving. Go here there while firing, if you stop for a second, you die. Really dumb ass game.

Not necessarily, what SC did was innovative and that is what mostly caried its good scores. Every game has its faults and problems, but those are often overlooked for what they actually brought to the table in terms of 'newness'.

I thought SC was excellent! The scale of the battles is awesome and much better than any other RTS I've ever played, I am not really a huge RTS fan but that game had me hooked for a long time. To be honest I had much better first impressions of SC than I have of SINS, it felt like a more polished game to me...........
