One Week Until the Break-in

...At Vacant Econo-Foods

So, we're gunna do it. That's right, next Thursday Scott, Adam, Kim, Austin, maybe Emily and I are gunna break into Econo-foods. It's an old building and has been vacant for years. I'm kinda nervous about it. But I'm on lookout, so it's all good. No actual rock-throwing or alarm setting on my part. I just don't wanna end up in Juvi or anything. And I'd prefer not to have anything on my record, either.

It'll be pretty great. Scott's pretty smart. *cough* We're doing this the night that the local HS lets out. I'm sure lots of cops will be out that night, but whatever. This isn't in that secluded of an area, either. So if Emily comes, her and I will park in this auto lot, "looking at cars for sale"... watching for copps or suspicious people driving down the main way. Kim will be down the other main street watching as well. We'll be paging the three guys if we see anything. First they're going to try and get this door unbolted... it will work pretty well as long as it leads to a main opening and doesn't set off an alarm. A rock or baseball bat will be our second resort. Austin said there could be a skylight on top of the building, so that would be pretty awesome. I wanted to video record it, but on second thought, that's probably not the greatest idea ever.

If we pull this off, it's going to be an awesome hang out place. There is nothing to do in this town, so we'll set something up. We'll have like open nights and I'll be DJ. :D That is, if we ever pull this off. I mean, I'm just dreaming with the last part. Our church is thinking about using that as a building, so we'll see what happens. Maybe we'd be better off trying to rent it or something. But this will be fun anyhow.

So, if you all have tips about breaking and entering or stories you'd like to share, I'd be grateful. Wish me well.

Sarah....this whole thing isn't the greatest idea ever.  Listen to Dharma when she says that.

If you get busted, do you realize what will happen to you?  If you want, I'll show you some WI codified laws that will explain what will happen.  It doesn't really matter that you're only the lookout, you can still be implicated and be charged as an accessory.  You don't even have to get caught, one of your partners in crime can roll over on you....it's just really not the best idea.

Trust me, it's not worth it.

"Listen to Dharma when she says that. "

I suppose I should, you're a wise lady. Hmm, they said they won't turn me in... but obviously that's pretty immature to rely heavily on that. Do you mind showing me the site? As we talked it over tonight I was going to be sure to google WI laws, but if you have them handy could ya post the link?

Sarah, What a great first chapter. Has anyone talked to you about publishing rights yet. Can't wait to read the next installment.

Scroll on down to sub-chapter II to see the 'crimes against property' part.  You can also go elsewhere on the site to see the classifications and penalties for the different degrees of misdemeanors and felonies....yes, in some circumstances breaking into a building, especially at night, can be classed as a felony.

As for your friends not diming you out...don't bank on it.  People will do pretty odd things when they're under threat of jail time or substantial fines.

Alright, so maybe I'm brighter than this.

We'll see... It'd be great, but hmm, I don't think I'm gunna do it. lol
