Registering Copied Product (need help)

Hello,

I need some info or help, so I hope somone can give me an advice.

I have got gal civ 2 with all expansions. Everything is fine. I installed it on my comp at home and played without problem. But now, I went for a holidays to England, where my family lives, and because i have just digital download, I copied whole game on usb disc, and hoped that I would be able to register game here without downloading. But it seems, thats stardock central, does not recognize any of those files on my hdd, because, I dont have any registry info on this computer. I can download it again, but it would take so long, Its about 1,6gb and my avarage download speed is about 8kb/s, can anyone help me? Is there any way, how to activate game, if I copied all the files from one computer to another? Thank you for help.

Simply copying the folders won't cut it because you need to have the appropriate registry entries created during the installation process. Unfortuantely it's not something you can just cut and paste back in as the serials and such are involved as well. While there's not a lot that can be done this time, in the future you should use SDC's archive option, then copy the archive files and use SDC's restore option to install from the archives. This puts everything in order so it's recognized and will run.

It's kind of a convoluted process, but you have to use the .sdc files. I like to keep a copy of the game handy and it took me a while to figure it out. You can get away with simply copying the directory with some game programs, but GC2 isn't one of them.
