Kzinti Empire - offical empire thread

You have dared to enter the lair of the most ferocious predators in the galaxy!

It is the ulitmate destiny of the Kzinti to conquer the other civilizations of the galaxy, subjugate and enslave any who may prove useful to us, and devour the rest. The Fanged God has ordained that this is how it will be.

In just 26 octals of days (7 months or so...Kzinti count in base 8), the Kzinti Empire rose from obscurity, to #1 on the Metaverse. With the blessings of the Fanged God, we have remained dominant for 100s more octals of days since that auspicious day.  We leapt past the other empires, and our mighty domain now encompasses over 32 million more light years than the second most powerful empire.  The most recent Galactic Map data shows that we have subjugated over 45% of the galaxy.  Many warriors from the old and dying empires have joined us, to avoid being eaten along with the rest.  We hunger to establish indefinite supremacy over all the inferior sentient species...

We have also been #1 on the AltMeta for over 3 years running. The Empire grows more powerful with each passing day as new conquests are won, and more warriors join us in our inevitable rise to rule the galaxy!

The Kzinti are a species of bipedal space-faring feline predators, who love nothing more than conquest and battle. Created by sci-fi writer Larry Niven, the Kzinti have had many stories written about them, most notably in the Man-Kzin Wars series of books. They have also shown up in the Star Trek universe, and a number of other realities.

"Kzinti flesh has a very strong and pungent taste. The weak among us are devoured by their litter-mates within a few moons of birthing. Only the swiftest and most ferocious of us survive to their first naming-day. Those not fit to survive will never live to perpetuate their inferior bloodlines. This is the natural law of the galaxy." - Kzinti Warrior

"The meaning of life is the hot blood of your prey on your tongue, the meat that rends beneath your teeth, the corpse of your enemy left in the sun for the carrion eaters to finish, your defeated foe groveling in submission before you. That is what life is. We are the Kzinti, and we stronger, swifter, wiser, and more ferocious than any other race ever was or will be." - Kzinti philosopher

I think the Empire should award some sort of special recognition to the first Kzinti player to get a game posted. if this "database maintenace" is intended to fix it

That sneaky little  rodent. ;)  Well it will probably depend mainly upon who is awake when the MV comes back up.  If it happens during the middle of the night (EST), I have a fair chance of making it.

There was a forum message earlier about SD sites being down for "database management".

Damn, first WoW gets a Bejeweled add-on, now they just got Peggle!!

http://www.popcap.com/promos/wow/

The funny part is that it'll be able to be used as a loot determiner...So now skillz (be them Peggle skillz) could determine how much lewt you walk off with.

My brave Kzinti warriors, the strange spatial anomalies that have been plagueing the galaxy have just as mysteriously disapeared, and the the stars lie open to us!  Warm up the star-drives, power up the weapons, and sharpen your fangs, for the Kzinti are unleashed upon the galaxy once again.  Let all Heroes and t'kzintar hear the call of battle and set forth to carve a path of red ruin among the starrs!

The hunt resumes now...

I'm off to play a few ZYWs, then start a new mega-swindle game. :D

My first victory after the MV is back up...decent ZYW score.

Everybody dont forget to start and save a few MV games in case there is more trouble in the future.  It's a good idea to have some in reserve so you can keep playing even if it's down.

Good idea! I can save some YZWs in DA and some longer games in DL and ToA. I have just about got the upper hand on my ToA speed-play strategy, and should be able to produce 500k-700k games in a hurry, if need be.

Hehe. Started this one sfter work today:

~the next morning ~

Considering that it only took 1/2 hour to play two more years, I would say it was worth the effort. If I had approached my farm-building differently, I may well have had 750-800K on this game. I "only" had 6.5 T population instead of 10T.

Thanks!!!.

Don't feel too bad, I just forgot my own planetary governor advice and have 500 planets that are building unauthorized advanced farms:

Oops. Time to go back to...well the start. Drat Phooey. Dadburnit. Wheres's our update?

On the upside, this is a really good map, and I know where all the "stuff" is now.

I am just walking through the throne room, giving my thanks to all the people that have help my empire out and there are too many people to name them all.

Did you see the new shinny medal on my banner, it just brightens the whole room up.

@ Snark, How are you doing your crowd control, I hope no slip of the claws, oops, delete (nuke)

Well, we Snathi are notorious Farkers. The other races do not seem to appreciate out talents, though. Take Aaron Bradley, for example. He has no sense of humor at all. I'm sorry, but those errr....enhanced.... photos of him and Eleys Mue that we sent his wife were hilarious. The man just can't take a joke. And the part about the Torian ambassador's official seal on the envelope! Don't even get me started on that one! That part went right over Bradley's head. Hehe...err...oops.

Mrs Bradley is not very adept at Xeno Linguistics after a few jello shooters, I noticed. The other day at a diplomatic function, she comes up to our ambassador and bellows "Where's my worthless husband, squirrel?" Everyone else in the galaxy knows that the Snathi word "diddling" means "to sing the praises on a subordinate's military prowess". You can just imagine the amusement shock of our entire delegation over her reaction to the reply "He's out back diddling Jenna Casey for some reporters".

Quite an unfortunate misunderstanding.  It's very strange how such incidents seem to follow the Snathi wherever they go....must be the unluckiest species in the galaxy.

My latest conquest:

Initially it looked like this game would be my best yet, as early score tests surpassed anything I'd done before.  This was the first time I've done a Swindle using all-labs instead of all-factories so I definitely learned some things.  My habitable planet count was quite significiantly lower than any game I've played before, and once again there were 0 random events throughout the entire game.  Perhaps the way I play these games lends itself to not triggering random events?  In any case, I'm a bit underwhelmed by the final result.  I've got another game going at about the 1.5 year mark with which I hope to do much better. :)

Since it is one of those 800K kind of days:

I had 9.4 T groveling citizens this time, and I figured out how to do a couple of things even faster!

Nice 883K, KP! That's a lot harder in DA than it is in ToA.

@jacklv: I think you may me right. I renamed the planet from Algore to Crawford. I was thinking Cindy Crawford, of course. Not the Texas Crawford. Damn dood thing I didn't rename it odonnell........
