want to keep playing beyond a preset victoey

Hi to all. I was playing a scenario and "won" the game with an Infuence victory when I hit the 75% mark. However, I feel cheated as I have more than 100+ hours into the game and want to keep playing the scenario until every last planet has been converted or conquered. Kind of like going to a restaurant, ordering a 5 course meal, and then the place closes before you can finish desert. Its a bit unfulfilling to say the least. Games like SPARTAN and Sid Meyers CIVILIZATION let you play "a few more turns" (read: however long you want), why can't Dreadlords. Do any of you tech savy people know how to mod the game so reaching a victory condtion doesn't end the game????

Sorry, you cannot make the game play beyond victory.

If you want to play until a complete military victory, just turn all the other win conditions off.

Hi,all. Thanks for the reply Vinraith, I see that option and will use it in future games. Kryo, thanks for taking the time to reply  . I understand the GalCivII might not be programmed to play beyond victory: MAJOR DESIGN FLAW!!, as other games do have this feature, (future patch/update??). What I'm now looking for is a good hacker who knows how to change the individual save game file to make the file read like I had deselected the 3 victory conditions in the first place so I can keep playing the game I've started. Any uber hackers out there?

There is one ingame way to avoid an infulunce victory. You can't win an infulunce victory while at war, so I would assume that if you load an ealier save game and declare war you would be able to keep playing.

Hi,Linthar, thanks for the thought. I tried that and it works somewhat. Problem is one you get to a certain power level, the race you're at war with keeps surendering to another race. You still end up being force to attack everyone constantly instead of being able to leave an enemy with just his homeworld and an active state of war so you can keep playing a building flavored game. Yet there is a spot on your relations screen that lets YOU surrender to someone but no option to DEMAND surrender of YOUR OPPONENT !!! ???? WHATS UP WITH THAT STARDOCK GUYS????
Some uber hacker PLEASE help me change the 3 ON/OFF bits associated with the "use victory conditions" start of game option.....
