Oh no another NOOB!

I've been lurking for a few weeks after downloading the demo and spending hours with it, and just bought the full game today. I'm impressed with what I've seen with the demo (still dl'ing the updates at the moment), and from what I've seen GCII looks like it's light years beyond what I consider the granddaddy of all galactic conquest games, the original Master of Orion. Kudos to the development team, I for one am pleased the game is turn based strategy, as it's the kind of thing I cut my teeth on when I first got into computer gaming back in the early 80's.

Welcome!

There's an expansion pack in the works too! If you pre-order it, you can play the beta version of it beginning Nov 16th, otherwise the release should be early next year.

Damn, there I go shilling again. I need a shower...

yes. Welcome!

Anyway, I remember seeing a friend of mine playing Master of Orion ## and I thought it was rather complicated myself.

Yes, but welcome to Galciv 2 and stuff and I hope you are pleased with the game for a long while ^_^.

As I've said before, if you're new, you'll find tons of hints/strategy's/tips, etc., on this forum...just not from me, since I've tried to wean myself off the cheat codes by entering the "metaverse" land (why everyone has icons below their posts - it's their status in the metaverse).

Anyway, welcome welcome .

I'm pretty new here, too, but one thing I'll say is that folks here are quick to help you through issues/questions. I have never seen a community like this that does not ignore new people or tease about even very basic questions. Welcome.
