It means to kill every last one of the enemy. Duh!

Often enough you can get the rest of the enemy's planets when all his ships are destroyed and you have transports nearby. Saves you the trouble and the casualties to finish the job by yourself.

I just destroy most/all enemy ships take a planet, offer a peace treaty and get another few planets through trade, then declare war agaim, take another planet, and get more planets, i do this till the ai has very fw planets and just take over the rest! and i have got away with this on hogh difficulty levels!

Azrune declining to comment. If that's not a sign on the wall, I don't know what is.

[quote]I just destroy most/all enemy ships take a planet, offer a peace treaty and get another few planets through trade ---- That can't work. I've tried to get planets from other guys and the only way to get one is to give them like 8 other planets for it. Seems prety pointless!

I think that depends on the difficulty level, if he plays at easiest difficulty with the most stupid AI + has good trade/diplomacy then i guess it can work hehe

Under the new system, if you sign a peace treaty and then attack again, you pick up a "--they don't trust us" modifier and future civs will choose to just fight you to the death, or surrender to any civ but yours.

I played my last meteverse game on normal. The AI wouldn't go for a peace treaty, instead preferring to be exterminated. I like to spore every planet than take away all their buildings so the new planets only cost me I think 15 bc. The planets drain your treasurey if you spore them anyway. I don't research hardly any diplomacy tech. I think that makes the AI stupid. A normal AI probably would have desperately gone for a peace treaty but instead is too stubborn if you have no diplomacy. In some ways, the mechanics of this game are kind of silly. If I had a higher diplomacy, then the AI would save themselves from extinction through a peace treaty. With hardly any diplomacy, the AI would rather be exterminated.

With good weapons, you can get everything (Drenin and Korath motto)!!

In the terms of sci-fi I think Zman is a noble/hounor civ:
That is they don't destroy planets and civilians, they devistate the military so much that the opposion are forced to surrender.

Man that sucks! I got to computers and the one that galciv works on doesn't have internet so I can't do any meteverse stuff. It's not fair!

I think there's a catch 22 on peace treaties and alliances. In my last game (small galaxy, 3 AI, I had an alliance with the Terrans and was at war with the Drengin. They asked me for peace and I agreed. The very next turn they attacked my ally the Terrans. I was forced to choose to take a diplomacy hit for not keeping my treaty, or a diplomacy hit for declaring war on the Drengins... either way I was toast. I choose to honor my treaty with the Terrans, since I had research and an economic treaty with them, and they were in dire straights. About 5 turns later a megaevent gave the Terrans superinfluence. Suddenly I was going banckrupt paying on all my worlds and resources, so I HAD to build influence SBs at every world to keep from being culurally dominated. Needless to say 15 turns later I got the secret meeting megaevent where the Terrans allied with everybody except the Krynn and wiped me off the galaxy. I still saw the Drengin empire crumble under the Terran's influence
