Playing the game on a laptop

How do you scroll out so as to make more of the map visible on the screen if you don't have a scroll wheel? The zoom out button only seems to be for the mini map.

The '+' and '-' keys zooms the map. In this case, the manual is actually correct...

hey i use my laptop and i have no problems
i have a mouse on my desk next to me
and i have a Synaptics Luxpad V6.2 and i have a virtual scroller
