Bug/Glitch : Extreme amount of Dreadlords

I'm playing a scenario, the Dread Lords one, not the campaign. I am the humans and I've been playing a long pretty slowly, trading techs, only ran into one dread lord battleship. They just took out my survey ship and went on their way. I found a battleship, and expected it to be alone and it was. 20 or so turns later, I come upon over 30 dreadlord battleships. How did this happen?! I'm scared to death lol.

And they are taking planets like crazy, and then producing like crazy.

I thought they were supposed to go much slower?!

You need to address them early, or you end up getting that problem. Good luck...

The Dread Lords are slow, but you said yourself, that you were also acting slowly. This gave them time to build up.

in the campaign I I rushed their world with transports and 3-4 small ships and a constructor or 2 to build a starbase when I needed more range. ^^

cant let em build up. dunno how it is supposed to work in the scenario

It looks like the Dread Lord's act like a Cancer, they start small and easy to remove. But if you let them grow, they eventualy become inoperable.

If he's getting 30 DL battleships in 20 turns, it's a bug. Or what the devs would call a "design decision".

But he didn't say that did he. If you let them build up their infrastructure, of course they will begin to produce masses of ships. Have you looked at their planets? They only build factories on them, nothing else.
It says in the campaign too that they don't colonise planets which probably is true in the scenario as well so don't let them conquer planets and fill them with factories.

Well the problem you have is, yes they don't colonize planets. But your stupid computer friends do and thats the real problem. Computer AI colonize all planets within a few rounds. AI acting stupid anyway they build one colony ship after another and know where the planets are, colonizing it and then a few rounds later the dreadlords attack and they stand no chance against them. I cannot attack them myself, cause they are my allies. So I can watch the dreadlords conquering more and more worlds of them and then I have to face against a huge armada of dreadlords and you cannot win that game anymore.

So the problem is the computer AI acting like stupid. I don't really like galciv2 anymore. The way the AI acts is plan simple and stupid imo. Colonize as fast as possible, know where is everything and minor races. They build influence starbases in my own territories lol.

Play on a giant map in max. 50 rounds every planet is colonized lol thats insane. The only chance you have is to purchase one colonyship after another and empty all your money and fly those ship into unknow space where star systems are and hoping that this starsystem has a planet to colonize.

But back to that campain. You are better without those AI allies in most of those campains. As I said the computer AI goes and colonizes those planets and when he do that the game is lost, cause the dreadlords will get more and more planets and therefore become more and more powerful. Funny to but the only chance you would have to win that scenario is by destroying your computer friends colony ships all the time
