Too late to D/L and get all the pre-order goodies? EB stinks and still doesn't have my pre-order....

I pre-ordered Gal Civ 2 several weeks ago from EB expecting them to have it by the 22nd, 23rd at latest. However, still no luck. I guess they may have it in tommorow or saturday, but I am getting impatient! Is it too late to order online and still get the nifty ship bits and get a collector's edition shipped?

I had the same problem from ebgames.com which normally does a great job of getting me games on release day or sometimes before. Looking at my order it says it is going to ship tomorrow and since its overnight I should get it for Sat.

I had the same deal with Amazon.com, but on Tuesday (the 21st) I gave up and did the download. It worked well (was a hiccup, but not bad).

I don't want to speak for them, but am pretty sure the makers of the game have already said that these first batches are all considered Collecter's editions with the goodies. They said they can track due to serial numbers which ones people have purchased. I have my parts installed already for the Collector's Edition "in-game" items. Very cool stuff, first (and probably only) Collector's edition I will ever get.

Game rocks, though. Download and play!

I kinda doubt that Froggy Boy.

What about customers who doesn't care to pre-order and check the game store on the 21st, 22nd, and 23rd to find no copy of the game?

The last time I pre-order EB try to charge me $69 for Shattered Union while it was only costing $29 at Future Shop and they have rows upon rows of them.

I see no reason as to why I would care to pre-order after such an experience and been unable to play and seeing you catering to peoples who preorder doesn't improve my feelings at all.

As to the online Download, as a SoE customer, I learn to NEVER buy online, no matter what.

So to be specific... If I were to go to the purchase link and buy the "download + retail CD" option, I'd end up with a collectors edition box and tech tree printout in a couple weeks when you finally get enough produced to handle demand?

The main thing thats keeping me waiting for amazon is the tech tree, if I knew I could get it eventually, I'd cancel and just order it direct from you (since its looking like at least a week more delay at this point, since I don't want to pay a ton for shipping). Looking at the message boards and not being able to play is torturing me. Heck, I even went back and started playing MOO3 again (galciv1 doesn't have ship design), and no one should have to go through that....

I'm having the same problem with my local Gamestop. I preordered it, they don't have it yet, and don't know when they're going to get it.

If they don't have it tomorrow, can I get the Collector's Edition box (the ship jewelry is nice, but what I really want is the paper tech tree; IMO, paper tech trees are mandatory for games with an interconnected tech tree) directly from Stardock, and if so, what do you need me to do? I can provide a picture of my Gamestop recipt if you want proof I really pre-ordered it.

I don't think EB is at fault here. They can't ship it until they get it, ya know.

Estimated shipping date this time is for tomorrow, which is fine I guess. Looks like it'll arrive Monday, which wastes my whole damn weekend.

Normally I wouldn't bump, but I'd really like to know what I can do (if anything) to get a collector's edition box besides wait for Gamestop.

I hear that EB retail outlets on planets with PQ of 25 or higher got the game in yesterday. Earth's planet quality is too low, and so we have to wait longer.
