I'll e-mail my contact at NVidia and see if I can get a status report on this. I know this may sound stupid, as I am ignorant when it comes to these things, but are we sure it's a driver problem? Given that the game runs perfectly without the Info box open, could it be something else?

PLEASE, you don’t have to read the whole thing but please respond. Let the developers know they are AWESOME, but this issue does need attending to!!! You got my vote traviler. It's something that would make a great game better. just remember star fleet is not the military of the federation Really?? I'm not sure about that.... Star Trek 2, wasn't that the gripe of the scientists working on the Genesis

Like many others, I would like a more passive option to exist for spies, where they would just gather intelligence, and as a result be harder to detect.... maybe making starports or planet capitals open tiles for spy placing, without any sabotage effects. As mentioned, counter-intelligence against non-sabotaging agents would be accomplished by designating spies or money to that endeavor.

Value is a seperate issue. Even if land decreases in value, you can still use it. Land does not wear out... it might change over time, eurosion, vegetation etc etc, but you can always still use it. I got some people in Kitty Hawk, NC who might disagree. Their one time "ocean front" lots are almost ocean.... But alas, I digress... <img

Mystikmind, I certainly hope you're referring to legal downloads. Asking for help pirating software is a short road to ban-land. Funny, this topic just came up on the wargamer forum as well. Something new to me was that "abandonware", while many think it is legal to download, in many cases isn't. Copyright laws last for 50 yrs(I believe) and

I am in agreement, I think it would be a great way to break Galciv 2 into the Multiplayer world. Even larger games would be possible with PBEM, kinda like playing VGA Planets 10 yrs ago... (Ahh the memories...)

On the original subject, combat in DA has now been changed so that all attack rolls are 0-max. Yes, but if someone launches a singularity at me, will I feel the gravitational effects before I see it hit me or not???? Just kidding. Thanks Kyro, I think that was a great change to the combat system.

Gravity is also limited by the speed of light. Assuming crazy, rule bending stuff like warp drives and black holes aren't in the equation, no information (that includes forces) is ever detected faster than light from the source can reach it. This is isn't my area of expertise, and I have already had a couple of drinks, but you're saying that if t

This post reminds me of a question... does anyone know if gravity is instantaneous or not? in the sense that it takes 9 minutes for light to reach earth from the sun, so if the sun suddenly vanished, we would not know it for 9 minutes! so i wonder what lenght of time would pass befor we felt the gravitational effects of the sun vanishing? That is

Well I dug around on the forums and this is the best post I could find that states attacks are zero to max. Reply #13. Its from March. So pretty much day one. Forum Link I know I've seen Kryo post about it as well but didn't feel like searching the 98 pages of replies to find the one post. If you take a look at the combat sticky on

...speaking of targetting systems, though, wouldn't it be great if we could put targeting systems onto our ships to increase the minimum damage, along with the corresponding tech tree (and maybe even countermeasures that counteract the effect?) I think that is a great idea. I would think that smaller ships (presenting a smaller target) would rec

I feel there should be more significant limiting factors for luck in defence and attack. I don't like the idea of the posibility that luck can seriously affect a combat outcome. You know, otherwise we may as well just forget about all this weapons and defence technology, infact just forget about playing Galciv at all and lets all run down to the casino!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I believe I would have to agree with Ephafn. If it's possible to roll a 0 on defenses (completely bypassing the armor/shield/PD), then why shouldn't it be possible to roll a 0 on attack (simulating a complete miss)?? This would help offset the inherit weakness in defense vs offense under the new rules in Beta 2(b).

I was just about to win a game (or so I thought) when the Dread Lords arrived. I was in the middle of a war with the Drengi, and they had several of my planets infected with spies. They ended up surrendering to me, and therefore no longer exist as a power, but their spies are still active. None of the orignal races are left, only the Dread Lords remain. (And probably will remain for awhile....)

Hmmm, I did a search for this problem and didn't find a post on it.... then again, I searched for the word "Warp field", and "Disruptor". Perhaps the person didn't know what it was called. Anyhow, I'll try to set a side a save-game and if anyone wants it I can send it. Thanks.

I am playing a game right now where I have a couple of military bases around my key planets. I have Warp field disruptors installed on them, however, I find that it is slowing down my own ships!! Anyone else had this problem? Edit: Sorry, forgot to to include that I am playing the latest beta of DA...
