Harder?! Wow... Note to self, when I finally get Rebellion, make lots of flak... Now if only there was a way to buff LF enough to be useful against its counters without nullifying the LRF or making it OP early game...
flak got nerf, so lf counters them hard. PB: Do first even supply then even cost. Then play around how many ships can counter what amount
He mentioned superweapons and pirate mercs in the same post, I assumed he was talking about this post. I know RA was OP in entrenchment I was there (Although it could of been vanilla. I really could not tell you its been to long).
These are 3 strategies that are gone.
The Vasari one does not need a buff, the advent one was always in need of a buff, the Nova has needed a nerf. @John: you kidding, of course you can. In all my time in multiplayer I have never had to build more than 3.
Its not. For tec you need to actually have more than 4 for it to be a threat. You will never lose a game to it, and you can sit back and let him fire knowing he
What
I did a test with the new balance. TEC flack beat Loyalist TEC corvettes to over 200% fleet supply ratio... (LRM beat lf to 150% ratio) I suppose other corvettes will do better, though, since they would debuff the flack.
what kind of test are you doing?
Yes the corvettes were easily destroyed but when he had 800-1000 of them at one time and they come at you in a horde they do some massive damage to our fleets, they also out ran everything but the fighters and bombers, which there weren't enough of to be effective, I suppose I never got that many flak weapons but I personally never found flak frigates that effective, but as I said, I never got that many, mainly just to stick with ca
Superweapons were hardly touched, returning armada was not touched, and pirate mercs. are fine. Credits are easy to come by.
As others have mentioned these were strategies that were nerf out of practical game play. The devs can tweak the amount of ships you get so they are not OP. As it stands Returning Dark Armada and Pirate Mercs are not worth the random units you get for the cost.
Its actually very bad. 4 means you cant sit behind your SB and Nova your opponent to death, or take over worlds due to culture, or destroy static defenses.
These 3 strategies have been nerf out of practical game play...but Devs you can resurrect them.
Any reason why flak frigates were singled out for a nerf?
Did you really need to ask? I suspect now with steam they are able to see what ships people make the most at what time of the game.
Another counter are envoys but that requires timing.

Gotta learn to counter it. Dunovs counter mass armistice. Also build a starbase or mines if they keep doing armistice.
angryandroid - thanks for the info. We're definitely looking into these issues, including the early researching of Titan tech.
Dont change the AI too much. Currently certain vicious ai can be hard to kill. Their many cap plus titan combo is deadly along with constant armistice. You have to be creative to kill them.
Latest version crashes more than previous version. Issue is desync.

Just have one button with four tiers; I am talking about aesthetics here people not changing the functionality.
I answered that question on my previous post. Answer is, more time, and more research. Each tier research has the same cost and time per level.
Resource base upgrade for titan is bad. Losing a percentage of experience per death is good. I vote 20 to 40% per death
Wow. First limit the number of super weapons and now limit the type of units? They do limit the number by requiring fleet upgrades and a variance in supply cost per type of ship I suspect the next request will be to limit the number of trade ports or culture towers and even factories
They are still automatically sent. No need to manually send them your minidumps.
There use to be a message that it was sending them which stopped. If you check out the files they are 40+ MB (compressed to less than 2MB)
Is this still happening or did you guys get too many dump files?
if you look at the time for each tech, ie level 1, 4 or 8, each requires the same time if on the same tier. Having it all in one level say tech 4 would decrease the time to build a titan and having it at level 6 would require more labs. Not sure if its a game limitation that requires all tech to be the same research time per level.
With a limit of 2 planned Vas super will fail to kill any structures.
Devs, let the advent super weapon destroy a planets culture towers when hit.
I don't understand what is wrong with making it a single button but just givving it four tiers.
the 4 research criteria requires user to spend not only research time on those 4 techs but cost as well. Gives the opponent more time to disable titan research
