Hi Bichur, Ty for the reply, Umm, your using the free versions of the programs? At the moment that is what I am restricted to until I can afford to buy the whole "Ball of wax" as it were... Thx, Zero.
Double Zero
Np Lantec, if I have something useful to input I usually will. I am sure in the near future I am going to have all kinds of questions myself that you may be able to answer.. Take Care, Zero.

"Hoorah" Cerebro way to step up!..::laughs:: I can definitely understand Gibbs frustration tho, so I wont hold his mis-placed anger against him. Stardock just is not the reason the system is messed up though, that much is true. Hang in there Gibb, it is by no means a lost cause... Zero.
UMM!..if you choose repair it will only bring you to the recovery console, what you want to do is simply choose install, it will install fresh windows system files and components without removing any of your personal files or programs... You may try using Chkdsk from the recovery console first tho...to do this choose repair from the Windows XP installation disk..at the prompt type chkdsk /p ..Chkdsk works about 75% of the time..I would
Well Gibb, Other than doing a *Repair install of the OS the only other thing I could suggest is surfing through TweakXP.com Link for any useful tips..there was one article there concerning changing the DLL file..Hmmmmm..Ahh there it is.. This is straight from the TweakXP site The easiest way to replace uxtheme.dll, or any other dll, is to delete the backups of the dll(s) you wish to replace in the
Hi there Gibb, First of all I would like to clear the aire, Window Blinds will never be the cause of "Messing things up" The User is more times than not the blame 100% of the time..Believe me I know from personal experience..LoL. On your desktop right click anywhere upon it, from the pop-up menu choose properties..On the Display properties window there will be a bunch of tabs at the
You'll need to run Recovery console from the XP installation disk...once at the prompt type chkdsk /p that should correct your file problem..but you may not be done yet..you might have to fix the MBR as well..do do this all you have to type at the prompt is fixmbr..but use this as a very last resort.. Hope this helps, Good Luck, Zero.
Exit Window Blinds and click properties on your desktop, go to the appearance tab , hit the drop down menu and choose Windows XP Style..There ya go!..But I highly reccomend against it...you could end up going into shock!...Do it at your own rish..LoL Take Care, Zero.

I Know a few places where you will even get clean files (no spyware & Trojans) Themedoctor.com has an awesome collection also Patinastreasures.com and another one is desktopreflections.com Be careful downloading and installing Win98 themes from other sites, they are full of spyware and malware..Use Nortons antivirus to scan every file and also run Ad-Aware after every installation..Well...unless of course you dont care about that sort of thing..but you

Thanks Aufisch for the valuable info and help! apparently my version of theme manager is 2.11 and it is the only one I can find on the web right now..Sooo..::laughs:: that definitely explains the suites problem.. as for boot screen...I have tried all 3 available DL's of the program and I cannot get it to open..I dont know whether it is a conflict between it and theme manager or what..with all three bootscreen progs I can use the bootscreens provided *i
Hey there everyone, I have a few, perhaps stoooopid questions but..::laughs:: the answers are beyond me..sooo..here we go.. One day I decided I would like to try installing suites, well to do this of course I had to DL the free version of Theme Manager, which in turn DL'd a bunch of other free program v
Thanks a bunch for pointing me in the right directions Essencay...I do think that as soon as I can afford them I will buy all the programs and give skinning a shot.. Tutorials are good..::laughs:: and I have learned to read them after my last botch..(this should give everyone a good laugh) I tried to manually change my bootscreen, sure, in the tutorial that I read about how to do it, there was a big warning in red bold type, but did I pay atte
First of all I would like to say that some of you are doing some awesome work with WB's..truely amazing and I personally thank all of you for the effort and the sharing! Since I am not half as talented as most of you and there are WB's I would like to see created, I was wondering..might there be a sort of "Suggestion Box"? or board where authors can take a look and perhaps choose to take on a project or two? Just a thought..I will pro
