Pre-ordering: what's best for Brad?

I have listened to Brad/Frogboy's interviews on Apolyton.net. If you haven't, you should, they're pretty interesting. In one he talks at length about how Strategy First stiffed him for royalties for GalCiv I, something I know many of you are already aware of. I feel guilty, having bought that one retail. If only I'd known.... Now I am ready to pre-order GalCiv II: >>All users who pre-order it will get extra content: Additional ship components, the Galactic Civilizations Desktop and more. Players who purchase the retail pre-order (either direct or pre-order it from retail) will get the special pre-order package which includes a fold-out tech tree and other goodies.<< Does pre-ordering through Stardock get me the tech tree? If not, does preordering retail (cuz I really want the tech tree printout) mean Stardock gets less cash? Brad's interview said the tech tree for GCII is more streamlined... and for that I say THANK YOU.
