windows crash on beta

Downloaded the Jan 9 and 10 download from .8 to .9 and now the game crashes immediately after i hit run It goes to the microsoft window error screen and ask if I want to submit the error I reinstall the .8 from tharchive it play and if I try updating the game the same thing happens

Well, if you are just at citizen level, you shouldn't see gamma download (0.9x). So it is safer for you to stay with .8 beta release.

actually - Ihave a similiar problem -updated to 81.006, game now consistently crashes on completion of Galaxy Setup
Screen- Never archived prior builds, so I guess I'll have to wait until release day and hope final version resolves issue.
I've tried uninstalling and re-installing in default location, cleaning registry- no go I'll submit to gc2bugs just for completeness sake.
