AI too tough!

Hi, guys! I am a vet of these kinds of games, and let me start by saying--this one is going to be a BLOCKBUSTER!!!!!!!

But, I am getting creamed, even on Beginner! Does the AI start with some kind of building, tech and ship advantage? Or does the AI just use optimal build orders? After 50 or 80 turns, I am pathetically behind in tech, despite spending all resopurces on developing new tech research centers.

Any advice?

Reasonably optimal build orders, though there is some discussion about impossible ship designs. Just last night, I found a Yor Constructor that with the techs and bonuses the Yor had at that time I couldn't have come close to recreating. Speed 5 and a range of 1.7, no research into miniaturization, no drive better than the ion drive. and only General life support. That's two ion drives and better than three general life support modules. I can't even do that to a colony ship, and the colony module is 10 spaces smaller than the constructor module.

Also, MAKE SURE you're activly trading with the other races (requires the low-level tech "Universal Translator").  THis not only keeps you up to speed technologially, but it also keeps relelations with those races high (plus, it's what the aliens are doing...why shouldn't you  )

ps. Thanks for the kinds words...we'd all be estatic if the game reaches "Blockbuster" status, but we'll be happy with just making a "good, solid and fun" game.

BoogieBac, GC2 is already good and fun, working on solid , so I'm not sure future tense is needed. I'll admit that i'd be aggrivated paying for something that CDTs this often and has as many quirks, but I think we've all had that happen on release software at least once.
