Beta 4 - Ground combat out of whack

Even though my tech is higher than my opponent (about double, in fact), they seem to be able to invade planets with a smaller force (500 vs 3000) and take the planet. Makes for a difficult victory.... We'll see what happens when I invade...

Invasions are not really implemented very much at this point (only enough that invading is possible), so it should get better later on in new builds.

I wonder if it also depends on the Difficulty of the AI and the Invasion techs you research.

Seems ok to me.

I'm pretty sure that it is not fully implemented. It seems like the Attacker always has a huge advantage over the defender, regardless of tech. This may have been put in temporarily due to the fact that we are severely limited in how many troop transport ships can be grouped into a fleet (due to logistics). I expect that this part of the game will shape up a lot in upcoming betas.

Invasions won't be in (really in) until the end of the month.  What's in now is just a stop-gap.

In GalCiv 1 the same thing happens. It was explained as the attacker having "not just ground troops but an entire air armada and thousands of ground support craft" and the fact that the defender's entire taxpaying population were mobilized as soldiers
