When will the $44.95 be charged?

(There's a decent chance, due to the actions we have to take due to a scam, is that there will nothing in the account on Thursady.)

There's a decent chance, due to people who try to scam retailers online, that you won't get the game if your credit card company rejects the online purchase. What do you THINK is going to happen?!?

If you've already placed your pre-order I'd imagine that you've been charged already. If you were planning to buy when beta 4 rolls out (on thursday) I'd avoid waiting too long as Stardock will likely close beta access again after a week or three.

Actually, when I preordered (on Sept. 28th), Stardock sent an email with this:

Your pre-order for Galactic Civilizations II (Final Release) has been received.
You will be notified via email when Galactic Civilizations II (Final Release) is available.

No charge has been posted against your credit card at this time.

(Beta III closed like 2 weeks before. Bah. )

Nobody is charged for pre-orders until the next beta period is opened. Given what you've posted, you'll want to email sales@stardock.com and cancel your existing pre-order. You can then create a new pre-order with a valid credit card or PayPal account (or via TotalGaming.net).

I Pre-ordered GalCiv2 yesterday, and Beta4 comes out tomorrow. If i don't recieve an email to get into the beta, what should i do?

Well I did also found this confusing too , but here some things I found out "on my skin" that may interest others :

1. If you preorder game at stardock you will be charged when game released but you will not have access to prev. beta only when Beta4 will arrive you will get it.

2. If you will preorder thu TotalGaming tokens then you will be charged right away and will be able to download Beta4a right away even before Beta4 released (no way to order CD here).

Please also bare in mind that ordering thrue TotalGaming is about $10 cheaper BUT it costs 5 tokens and minimum you can buy is 10 tokens so check yourself what better for you.
