Bug? 2 planets in 1 system...

...I managed to colonize two planets in the Sol system. I didn't get a "Colonize" cursor when I did it, and the docs are unclear on whether or not you're supposed to do this. The second planet had no resources (oops) and so couldn't build anything. The problem is, most of the time I select Earth now, the game thinks Earth has no resources, cannot build anything, and so on. I don't think I'm getting Earth's income either...

You can colonize multiple planets in a solar system. Both the player and the AI do it routinely.

Perhaps your problem with Earth is a bug, perhaps the loss of production is due to another factor. How many colonists did your transfer ? Are there enough left on Earth ? Or
enough on the 2nd planet ?

When you click on the Earth system, you can access the view of the system, and click on the different planets in this list, where you should see both Earth and Sol N

There are almost 600M inhabitants left on Earth. All my planets (even the biggest one, Sobek-Re, with 4.2B inhabitants) now has no resources, just one lone research icon for the ones that have a research base. Does that make sense?

I don't want to rule out that it's something rule related I don't understand... but it sure doesn't seem so.

Okay, it just happened to me again in a different game: all three of my planets in a tiny galaxy were at "no resources". Earth, with 1.3B inhabitants, had been building at 7/7/1, and suddenly had none; the second planet, slowly growing since I got environment enhancements, was building at an unknown rate; the third wasn't building at all. I saved, quit the game, and reloaded, and production was back -- and the planet that had never had any resources was suddenly producing at 1/1/0.

That seems to be a bug to me.

Considering that your save had the proper production when it reloaded suggests a memory related failure, or an invalid pointer somewhere, although I could easily be wrong, given that my practical programming experience consists almost entirely of minor alterations of an Angband variant

If you have a colony ship in orbit, you can colonize without leaving the system, but for some reason the cursor isn't showing up.

Okay, I think this one was my fault. I somehow missed the line in the docs that explained that money stops being spent if you reach a deficit of 500 bc.

Might I suggest some sort of event screen when this happens? Otherwise, things just ... stop.

It would be a nice thing to have. GC/OS2 had a deficit spending waring. I think it poped up when your spending was reducing your treasury by more than 10% AND when your treasury went negative.
