It's officially winter

a reminder of why this city pisses me off half the year

It has been said that Winnipeg has two seasons: winter and construction. Well, thanks to our wonderful climate, construction season is officially over. Yes, today was the first snowfall of the year. My first question is, when the hell is global warming gonna get here! Stupid snow and your stupid winter. Damn you.

I do have to thank the architects who designed the U of M though. Tunnels connecting buildings is a good idea when we have to deal with these stupid winters.

I was kinda hoping for another couple weeks of decent weather, but stupid winter can kiss my ass.

By the way, I hate winter. And I especially hate getting out of my nice warm bed to go out in the cold and wait at the bus stop.

And this is the end of my barely coherent rambling about why winter sucks. I can't wait until...April? May?

I remember the Canadian winters... they were long and cold. I lived for ten years in Northern Ontario... in Sudbury. I shoveled snow DAILY from October until May... it was awful. My son is in Ottawa... already complaining to me about the cold.
One Christmas day, in 1983 the temperature went down to -63... I think that was the day I decided to move to Israel1
I've been here 21 years and the coldest it has gotten was 0 degrees... and it snowed TWICE since I've been here. It was a good move!

Life is too short to spend half of your life hating your environment.  Transfer to U of M (Miami that is).  The last snowfall they saw was in about 2 BC.
