I’ve been here at JU for nearly a year, and some of you may have read my blog and made a comment or two. One thing that has crossed my mind a few times is the fact that at times bloggers (having it happen to me personally) have had people say (concerning their articles); “blog for yourself”, telling the blogger to not worry about how others view them. Then at times those bloggers (the ones advised) post an article(s) and then they are told that their article isn’t “blogging for themselves” (more or less that way)…
Now, I’ve been finding out who I am, what I am, etc… And I’ve followed the other bloggers bits of wisdom/advice, and began to blog for myself. Recently, I posted some humorous things I found on the net, and absent mindedly forgot to post my comments as I was in a hurry. A few bloggers, (I’m assuming what they meant) made comments in that they didn’t think I was blogging for myself, that, despite me telling them that I was truly blogging for myself, they still felt I was “on the old path”. (referring to past events) Or that I was “jumping on the so-and-so parties bandwagon”, etc…
Now, my two main points are: When is it a bloggers responsibility to differentiate between “blogging for ones self…” or what’s proper blogging? If a person wants to post something, then why worry about it. It’s their blog. Now if it violates the TOU/TOS, that’s one thing.
Now, let me emphasize that I am not saying I don’t need advice, or that I am wiser than anyone else. I appreciate the comments, etc… And I don’t know where I would be without everyone here. You guys have helped, its just that I don’t seem to be ‘in-sync’ with those bloggers who make these comments; i.e. what they mean by their (what I view as hypocritical) comments.
I also understand that by writing this article I may seem like an a$$ (or at least ungrateful), i'm not, but, as was mentioned before: “you can’t please some folks”…

No one's telling you that you CAN'T write that stuff, Lucas. It's just that no one wants to read pandering crap that lacks any heart or originality.

It seems very much to me that what you want more than anything is to be accepted. That's cool. I think we all want that. But you REALLY want it. You want it so much that you would forfeit your beliefs, your desires, essentially who you are...just to be accepted on a blog site.

Just stop. Stop worrying about pleasing people. Stop worrying about what WE think you should post. Tell us to piss off, and write about what you want. What you did last weekend. What you think about violence in video games. The thing your mom said that really pissed you off. Who you'd like to date. Whatever. Write about whatever.

If it interests us, we'll read it. If not, no worries. You'll hit on something else good soon enough. No one gets 100% approval or tons of comments on every article they write.

Go ahead, tell me to piss off.

I want you to. And then I want you to write about whatever you want, and if I don't like it, tell me to piss off again. Just keep doing that.

Be real.

That's all I want you to do. Be true to yourself. If the democratic humor was true to you, then fine, cool, tell me to piss off about that, too.

Acceptance...perhaps, but less so than...lets say, six months ago. I've come to (at times) have a piss off attitude. I'm not forfeiting anything, I don't know who I am... so i am learning...viewing...asking....(not at the moment due to a minor technical difficulty... :S) My main concern is that i don't want a conflict, NOT, that i want to be accepted, i just don't care for conflict at times...doesn't matter if that person and i have a good relationship or not...

Go ahead, tell me to piss off.I want you to. And then I want you to write about whatever you want, and if I don't like it, tell me to piss off again. Just keep doing that.


-Never would tell you to piss off... Nope, not gonna...you can't make me. I have yet to have anything (as far as my memory serves me) that would make me say such a thing to you...now to Myrr, dabe...and a few others...yeah. :S

-I just see it as a bit hypocritical....

-Also, this is blogging for me... as i have said repeatedly...at times i have nothing to say... and i post these things (the humor)...but some people either don't listen...or...for whatever reason my words bounce off of them like a richochetting(sp) bullet...and i don't care any more....

Recently, I posted some humorous things I found on the net, and absent mindedly forgot to post my comments as I was in a hurry.

Posting three links to separate "quizzes" (on the same site) in three different articles without adding comments isn't done by "forgetting".  Once is forgetting.  Three in a row is spamming.

All blogs have to conform to the TOU.  If you post to the forums, it will be moderated.  If you allow comments, you can assume that people will say things you don't like.  If you want to blog just to blog and don't want comments, either limited who can comment (or disable comments) or don't post it to the forum.

That's a lame excuse, and you know it's not true. Why do you lie like this all the time?

As I recall, when you were writing for 'you', you were wirting about your family and your life and that was relatively well accepted. Now you're simply plagarizing, spamming and bumping articles from ages ago that nobody had any interest in.

You didn't get it back when you were claiming to be a PhD, you don't get it now, and I am having serious doubts about whether you'll ever get it.

You claim you have "learned your lesson" yet on the same day you post an article asking admin to let you off restriction, you also chose to artificially bump a plagiarized article from essays.com that you posted 4 months ago and got no response to.I thought you were going to go back through your blog and delete all this plagiarized crap?I thought you were going to quit cutting and pasting stuff from other websites without adding some original content of your own?I thought you were goint to stop bumping your own articles on the forums? (Not that the one you bumped today was your "own" in any sense of the word, but you catch my drift, I'm sure.)

-Ok, granted, i screwed up...i just didn't think...ok...i admit it... i don't know why i don'r remember/think at times...its not that i do it purposely...it just happens....my docters (Danielle Desrochers/David Pannosian[Lungs]) Both say that the main cause of me being that way, is cause of my CO2 levels...ok...

Don't pull that BS with me, Lucas.  Don't go off on the 'poor pitiful me. my life is so horrible and nobdy knows what I deal with...nobody understands me and everyone's just mean to me and i'm sick and people should feel sorry for me and kiss my ass and let me get away with stuff' 

It's horse poo, and you know it.  yeah, you got your problems, but you know what?  We ALL have problems.  We don't all use our problems like a weapon though.  If you only knew some of the crap that people around here have to live with daily...you'd see just how well off you really are.  Ask Karma what her life is like sometime....ask LW, and DrMiler how they manage to make it through the day.  heck, ask ME how it is to be in my skin.....
